  1. Attitudes around here lately....

I bet Cappy does! Sent that douche over to 201...him and the 8 other people with the posts from a year ago can help him out. On a side note...maybe you could buy that guys equipment for nothing since he jumped in w/o a bit of knowledge or tech support.
  2. Attitudes around here lately....

I musta missed a lot of drama, but always remember...when the crap hits the fan, it doesn't distribute evenly.
  3. How did you get into sign making?

Grandparents started the company in 1980, I grew up and was around it my entire life. Time came for them to retire due to failing health, I bought the business from them, still going five years later.
  4. Looking for an artist that can create this backdrop

Huh? It's not an art competition...it's for a backdrop...for a competition that takes place on the stage. Doug, they just want something LIKE that, it needed to include all of those elements according to the layout on the stage.
  5. Looking for an artist that can create this backdrop

It's for a backdrop. I just reread what they were doing. They want a Somerset County, PA look on a 4'X8' on the left, The Pentagon picture on the right on a 4'X8', then in the middle, they want the New York look w/ the twin towers, and a flag waving in front of them. These will be used in a...
  6. Looking for an artist that can create this backdrop

I think something this small would look like crap blown up to a 4' X 8'. They just have to have it right away - as with everything they bring me. All I can do is tell them that they are nuts, and give them the figures of what it could possibly take as far as time. It's just crazy the stuff...
  7. Looking for an artist that can create this backdrop

Ok, doesn't have to be Vector, I just didn't want three massive files that were 4' X 8' raster if I didn't have to have them. I'm not printing these in house.
  8. Looking for an artist that can create this backdrop

I have a picture given to me from the local high school, and we kind of need to re-create some things with a 9-11 theme to them. The awesome part is that I need to have them by like next Monday at the latest. Here is what I have to work with, they need the twin towers and city in one, the...
  9. Give Up Hire a Professional

Thank goodness I'm a sign maker that KNOWS he isn't a graphic designer. If I have something that requires a designer, I sure as heck get one instead of wasting my time messing with something that will end up sub-par that I won't be happy with anyway. There are guys that knock stuff out of the...
  10. How many of you do work for Fire and Emergency?

We got duped into something for the firetrucks that I'd never do again. We had logos that they wanted to use, but the company that sells the fire trucks has to do all the work themselves, so we had to print on their material (gold leaf) and they didn't hardly give us enough, and then getting...
  11. Need advice on BASIC setup to print SMALL car magnets. Thanks!

Sub it, Sub it, Sub it!!!! No reason to buy the equipment for a startup focused on one thing when there are people all over printing at just above their cost.
  12. Goldrush Alaska

Yea that show is messed up. I'm thinking if you are about to lose your house and everything to your name, you shouldn't spend 250K+ on equipment you know nothing about, and you should have paid off your house instead, and been fine.
  13. You want me to teach you what!!!

I'm amazed he can pull up anything other than boobs on the internet. We used to get calls several times a month asking us who we used for suppliers, etc. Most of the time it was when I was gone to lunch, and you'd better believe I wasn't calling them back. I don't get why it makes sense to...
  14. We need an updated "show us your shop" thread

Here are some quick snaps from my work area. The two finished room pictures are front and back of the work area, then the attached 4 bay garage, cutting area in the back of the building, and the upstairs storage area (that's the big blank area). Lots of potential...but don't need it all right now.
  15. Can't We Just Shoot'em?

I'm hoping my daughter can spot a douche from a mile away, and not want to have anything to do with them. I've got like 10 years before she's even going to THINK about noticing a guy yet though...until then...I'll enjoy the innocent years.
  16. Vandalism Fail!!

Way to go Fatty McButter Pants!
  17. Staying competitive

If I'm doing a vehicle, I try to as much cut as possible, because I feel like that lasts longer (but like I said, maybe it's just a feeling) but anything temporary, we print. We do a LOT of temporary things that only are out a month or so, then we remove and update for auctions, so most stuff...
  18. horrible logos

Yea, then you can send your logo right over to the Vector Doctor to have it in a form you can use too. It's a great economy booster!
  19. 18x24 Screen printed signs?

I have used Keith @ I-45 as well for the past several years. I haven't ever had one that didn't ship out same day. Amazing speed, great price, great quality. Never had one that didn't look good.
  20. I Dare You

    Doug's interpretation of Bob...Hands down.
