  1. Machine keeps going to local mode while printing?

my jv3 was bypassed to print with the cover open, as well. BUT there should be a magnetic clip on the right side of the cover that sits in place on the machine, that could rattle itself to trigger the sensor. maybe try reseating the clip and/or putting a piece of duct tape over it to lock in...
  2. Machine keeps going to local mode while printing?

how about the cover? also, they could seem fine but maybe there's a loose connection in the wiring that's causing it to trip?
  3. Machine keeps going to local mode while printing?

thread about this a while back, i believe I remember the issue was the lever up/down sensor being rattled/triggered during the print.
  4. Wrapping Kicthen/Bath Tile Wall

sweet, no biggie... just thought i'd bring it up, since you also brought-up budget and lamination doubles the cost of your material right off the bat. 3M has some nice stuff, 8624, but pricey. Arlon 6700 has my vote for sure. great stuff. Maybe "laminate" the wrap vinyl with transfer mask...
  5. Wrapping Kicthen/Bath Tile Wall

3551RA is for simple curves, so if you're expecting it to conform to the grout lines... it won't. it won't even stick very well on heavily textured surfaces, even when heated/conformed it will pop-right back up over time. it's a calendared vinyl. if you're cutting out the grout lines, it'll...
  6. Full color print on Coroplast

outsource to a flatbed printer or do what I do, print full 4'.25''x8'.25" sheets and use your laminator to apply like a "big squeegee". then cut-down the coroplast to size.
  7. Matte Vinyl Prints Fades Fast

+1 always laminate for anything intended to last more than a few months.
  8. ISA 2014. Who's going???

    i'm in! thurs-sun
  9. Looking for Glow in the dark Vinyl

i haven't tried it, but I can only imagine that applying transluscent films to glow in the dark vinyl will not only diffuse the glow but inhibit the material from recharging as well... effectively killing the glow in the dark effect. I think that's why you always just see the yellow/green...
  10. Illustrator cs 6 help

got some screenshots? maybe try saving as a .pdf? This clips the file to the size/contents of the artboard, whereas .ai & .eps includes everything outside of the artboard. regardless, i'm a big fan of taking complex .AI artwork layouts and just bringing in to photoshop to flatten. just a thought.
  11. CNC review for Cabinet and Sign Maker ... but uses shills to get them sold

searching around out of curiousity, CNC forum poster confirms that Precix is sold out of Canada & manufactured in Mexico. it's funny how every forum thread where "Precix CNC" is brought into discussion ...a first-time poster appears and raves about the quality of "their machine". I would...
  12. Just how durable is a floor graphic?

I don't think it would hurt to trust any of the "Floor Graphic/Laminate" suggestions from suppliers. I've got tons of misc. chunks of vehicle wrap vinyl on my shop floor from the past few months that I haven't gotten around to scraping-up and our forklift has been driving all-over them without...
  13. sign expo orlando

your sign supply rep. should have tickets for you. I've got like 20 free tickets from various suppliers, but I'm uncertain if they're transferable. ..or even how to transfer them if they were, as it's part of the electronic registration process when I signup every year. to my knowledge, they...
  14. Latex vs Thermal

top latex machine brands are HP & Mimaki. haven't bothered researching anything else. my HP26500 runs right next to my design computer, zero fumes & no exhaust system required. The only smell that comes out of it, is that of hot vinyl...which smells like money to me :) we used to have MAJOR...
  15. Latex vs Thermal

latex ink? naw. smoooooooth as a baby's bottom.
  16. Supplier for CLEARSHIELD liquid coating?

~$90/gal sounds about right. Merchant Member here, Advantage S.S., carries it. (link)
  17. Latex vs Thermal

lol, so easy even a "Concave-man" can answer :ROFLMAO: ....YES. Anything that is solvent/ecosolvent compatible, Latex can do better.
  18. Would you please express your opinion for pricing?

hear that boys?!? BOOM goes the post/ego+1 p.s. no way you have only an hour invested into production of that... thing. If you really want to give your friend a low number, and still give yourself a fair-shot at a profit, then maybe fix your math to account for how many units you can produce...
  19. Best Way To Re-Stick Lifting Decal Edge?

in all honesty.... post pics, or it never happened. also, liquid clear to seal vinyl splits? yuck. I'm more of a fan of using laminate overlays, but if you want something to quickly brush-on.....don't. whatever could work, will also bond to the surface of the vehicle underneath and ruin it...
  20. HP vs Mimaki

latex > solvent > ecosolvent, imho. mimaki vs. hp, ummm gonna have to go with potatoes vs. potatos here. trusted brands, trusted machines, and mimaki is not that much "newer" to latex than HP is at this point. i'd say go with whatever you can get a better deal on/whichever you'll have an...
