Matt, mine does the same thing...but only once in a while. Trouble is I've never made notes as to what was printing at the time, how sent, etc.
It's maddening when it happens. I'll watch the thread. If you learn anything from Roland or others please post it.
Good luck.
The last time our service tech came out he was able to tell me precisely how many firings each head had. I think he said each head is worth about 8 million, or maybe it was 8 billion firings. And he said we were about 1/4 of the way there.
Not that those are the only components that can wear...
Imasignr, I think you may be missing the point. Clients may use stuff you've made for them as a "logo" but THEY can't regard that logo as their exclusive property.
Doubt that it would ever happen, but if push came to shove, the originator's rights (ownership) trump those of the "users". (your...
I'll yield to Fred on this. He's the guy. I can't honestly say I know as much as he because he's the creator of clipart and surely has researched this. I was simply operating under my assumptions, trying to be helpful.
But passing along ideas, even with the best of intentions is not always a...
Ok I'll take a shot at it.
Point A. Clip art is copyright free art (provided you've obtained it lawfully) so you can do anything you'd like with it. Distort it, change it, use elements of it, etc. It's like a font in that respect.
Point B. If the client is looking for original artwork to be...
We've had ours about 2 years now. Difficult to say how many hours of operation. Somedays it runs all day, job after job. Other days only 4 or 5 hours.
Safe guess would be probably 3000 hours of operation thus far.
Hello Troy, I'm up in the Pacific Northwest. Graduated Strongsville High, Ohio a million years ago. Spent time in Mansfield, too. (not the prison).
Welcome to the board.
Thought of that one too, Island. Not gonna cut it. Guess I'll have to download a font for five or six digits to change prices for a guy. (we didn't make the menu originally) PITA
Thanks for the reply.
Bleed limit setting? Hmmm.. I'll have to check on that. Is there actually a setting for that in the export filter dialog box? Let me do a bit of experimenting.
...insist on putting some sort of "weed border" or space around the image? I've checked all of the settings that I can think of. It didn't used to do this, only recently started. I'm sure I must have "ticked" a setting somewhere, but where?
In case I haven't been plain about this. Example: I'm...
My machine is not a ValueJet, but I've encountered the same kinds of "access" issues. What I do is this:
I've obtained a very high power little pen light with an bendable, snakeable head (the kind with a laser on one side and white light on the other) and I use that to really, really inspect...
Oooooh! Tough one. I'm with others. Gerber is very Proprietary on their stuff. But Fred's, your man. He knows more about Gerber than they do themselves.
Don't understand the big push to use third party inks. Do you really save significant amounts of money?
I may be crazy but my ink costs are one of the least of my costs. But that's just me.
If this has always worked before, I'd say shut down VersaWorks. Then shut down the Roland. Primary power down for a full minute. Then power up primary, wait until lights stop blinking, then secondary power.
That's worked for me before.
