  1. How long have you been in the Sign Business?

Thanks Arlo! And Parrot, that is very cool. Me? I have been in the biz 24 years, 99% self taught mostly by trial and error. I did got to art school six months back in 80-81. Started out by hand, got a computer in 98, started learning Corel in '05. Still learn something new every day and...
  2. dragon from magic sculpt

You could either gild or use Ronan's Aqua Leaf or Kemp Permagild too. You can also two-tone gild with different types of leaf. Looks swell!
  3. Will the real DeSoto please stand up.....

Welcome from a traditional sign painter outta PA who will never wrap anything but a Christmas present. I would like to add to the pot that most people who design wraps need some sort of a basic layout certification. Now before someone rips off my left breast for posting in the wrap forum, I...

  8. Hello everyone - new Merchant - SignShopMarketing.com

Your sage advice is always welcome Dan. Lord knows I need it. I am slowly transitioning from one of those old painters who really would rather design signs than make them. Love...Jill

You gotta weld it, then node edit it. Love....Jill
  15. One shot questions? Reducing one shot

In my limited experience (24 years now) Penetrol, Smith's Creme, and linseed oil (boiled?) are all extenders for painting on a hot sunny day and can make the paint take forever to dry. Chromatic makes that stuff (Edge?) flow enhancer that makes paint real nice and slick but you have to buy a...
  16. One shot questions? Reducing one shot

I personally ONLY thin with turpentine. Mineral spirits can dull the gloss. I only use a few drops, mostly I like the paint straight from the can (if it's a new can) I put the paint into a paper cup (two layers) then put in a few drops of turp. 1-Shot does make both a hi and lo temp reducer...

Yup, post it here and within a few seconds, someone who does recognize fonts at first sight will tell you what it is. Love....Jill
  20. Clip Art ID?

Looks like I will have to ask him. I not only dread drawing it, I dread cutting and weeding the damn thing too!
