  1. Tech in tulsa, ok?

If you are willing to pay, then you need to call the "big guys". They are pricy because they know what they are doing, and are professional. I suppose Fellers has someone around there that would help you out, but I'd recommend Advantage for tech service. Nothing but great work from them...
  2. a 2nd business ?

I do video production as well. Been doing that since 2001, but I'm not sure it'll ever go full time. I enjoy that more than sign making.
  3. Fat head type vinyl question

Not gloss, but everything but Photo-Tex sucks. Get it from Fellers. If you want other ideas, do some searching. This topic has been beat to death.
  4. Ignorant cheap people...this is driving me nuts!!!

I took a wrap class when I first got into the digital world from cutting. I must have gotten in at the tail end of it, because you could still charge about $12 - $14 sq. ft. when I was there...that was in 2007. Seems like just lately it's been downhill, I don't even attempt to compete w/...
  5. New Daige Quickmount Laminators?

You talk like a dump release is always a bad thing...
  6. Mimaki JV3 - Never seen this before!!! HELP!

Yea, that's pretty trashed. Just don't clean down inside where those screens are...but you can clean the screens themselves...and all around that capping station.
  7. Mimaki JV3 pump maybe

I don't remember what the test print did, but I just quit being able to print in a couple different colors I remember, and then I found out that two colors go through each pump, so I just replaced both pumps cause they both work about as much as the other...so might as well take care of it all...
  8. Mimaki JV3 pump maybe

I had to replace my pumps about 6 months ago probably. I hadn't ever heard of them going out, but I guess they do. Mine was about 3 years old when it went out. I called Advantage and they talked me through what I needed, sent it to me so I had it next day, and then they walked me through what...
  9. Non-Original INK!!!!!!!

Wow...never seen that one...and I run after market inks on the same machine.
  10. take-up reel

Rolands don't come with a take up reel?
  11. Just curious how adobe users do this...

I'm totally hijacking this thread, but I still can't get it to work for me. I have a little logo w/ a transparent background on layer 1, then layer two is the cutout of the person. I got the path to export and look alright, but still can't get the two to export together.
  12. Printing "Fathead" Material on DC4sx

Photo-Tex. Just search on this subject, lots of info already on the board.
  13. Referral fees for graphic design services

Yep. Just a thanks does it here. My customers do it because they know I do good work, and will be around in the future to take care of people.
  14. Just curious how adobe users do this...

BigDawg's worked the best for me...now my question is...is there anyway to do this, and leave the printed part of the file in with it, or does that always go away?
  15. Just curious how adobe users do this...

Ok, not to just keep this thread alive by my typing stuff all day, but I've been trying for like an hour to figure this out. If I use the custom shape tool in Photoshop, I can do this no problem...but I have yet to figure out how to use a cutout of something that I already get that's cutout...
  16. Just curious how adobe users do this...

Ok, and since I never EVER use Photoshop, how do I fill it with black once I invert the selection? I have two "fatheads" to do today, and would love to get about 30 - 45 mins back.
  17. Just curious how adobe users do this...

Ok, so I have a photographer that sends me stuff that's already cut out in photoshop all the time...I can export that into illustrator, and not have to trace it again? I've been manually tracing everything over again once I get it. That's nuts! Am I understanding this right?
  18. Garage Door Wrap

For you to print the wrap at your cost, was more than what the door originally cost. Neat idea though. We've been asked to price some bigger door wraps on the outside, but no one wanted to get that much money in them...then again, I don't do them for free like the big boys do.
  19. Recommendation Needed

Depending on if you decide to do it in house, or sub it out (which if it's a lot, it's probably what I'd do) I'd probably use Orajet 3621, print them out, and lay them down w/ the big squeegee.
  20. Illy question on Offset Path

I brought this up a couple months ago. Apparently there are several ways to do it. Here is the thread. http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51040
