Thought I'd bring this thread back from the dead. I have been having crazy trouble lately w/ my JV3. It just started all of the sudden after being fine last week. My worst part is, I have to print a bunch of stuff for a photographer by tomorrow end of day, and they are already picky enough...

If your supplier doesn't have it, we got ours from Advantage. They could probably hook you up w/ one. I really like Fine Cut.

I was thinking the same thing! I gave up a couple years ago. I may check the ebay way.

Where do you even find someone to do this stuff? Can you do that Eric, or would it just be a waste of time since you could do so many other jobs in the amount of time it would take to do something like this. It'd be neat to have a client that didn't care, and HAVE to do this sometime.

Yea, you are still going to waste ink, it's part of your printer not becoming a brick. It's just the nature of the beast. All you can do is possibly switch to aftermarket inks to save money on the ink game. We are running bordeaux and are really happy with how they work, and how much we save...

Can you run aftermarket, or are you still under warranty?

Don't try to get away w/ it. Just re-draw it, or have the Vector Doctor do it, do it right, and don't put more crap out there than there already is. You will be way more satisfied w/ the project in the end.

I use him several times a week, and I've had lots of these he can't do cause they are too small. Of course I'd check w/ him...but don't get your hopes up too high.

First off...Welcome! 2nd...on my Mimaki, I was able to replace them myself from the help of Advantage Sign Supply kinda walking me through it. I assume you could do the same.

Yea, they canned that even before Sergio had officially left. That's been gone for months and months and months. Still blown away by your 20K a month by the way. Seems the rest of us are doing something way wrong to not get those kinds of numbers.

Some of them are. I still would be unhappy w/ it even if I had taken time to learn about it, and decide that it wasn't for me and return it. I don't like the fact that I only get one plugin to do stuff with, when to properly use it for signs, I needed more of them. If you are willing to sink...

I bought it...had it for the test time and still had the chance to return it, but was too busy to just sit down and learn it, didn't really pay any attention. When my time ran out, and I wanted to learn it, I was reminded that I have to buy all kinds of add on's to actually use the software...

That's weird that it did that. I only that that problem if I'm running something fast and I'm only doing 4 pass or something, but still...it's not that bad. I'm anxious to see if anyone has an answer.

I know Shovel. That's why I'm just lookin' for something close. I'd say me knowing fonts is about the thing I'm worst at in this business. I have no good system for sorting it all out. I'll just make do w/ something I can dig up here.
