  1. Mimaki JV33 Printing Issues!

How old are your dampers? If they are older than 1-2 years, replace them. The filters clog over time which slows the ink flow down and causes these types of issues. The ability of the dampers to expand and contract also gets worse over time which makes it so the ink flow can't keep up with the...
  2. Jv3 not printing Magenta or yellow

Your pump may be clogged as well. If you are pulling with a syringe and getting a lot of resistance but no ink through, it is clogged. If you are pulling and getting a lot of air and no resistance, your cap top is bad. If it's clogged you can usually unclog it by pushing cleaning solution...
  3. Pump not working???

I would suspect a bad cap top and/or the the tubes are not connected properly. Make sure the cap top has the blue stopper on the 3rd hole on the bottom of the cap top. Make sure the tubes are not installed backwards which would make the machine pump the wrong way. If everything looks good, I...
  4. Mutoh Valujet 1604

The ValueJet doesn't use drivers when printing from Flexi. You just need to set it up in the production manager and tell the software the printer's IP address. Flexi 7.5 should have the 1604 in it's list of supported printers unless you have a brand specific version that isn't Mutoh.

  6. Mutoh 1324 question

Here is the windows driver for the 1324: Mutoh VJ Windows Driver Download That will allow you to print out of Corel just like you were printing to a desktop printer. Mutoh doesn't really support it and it isn't the proper way to run things but if you are on a budget, it will get you by. If you...
  7. Mutoh print head

Give us a call! I have options that will save you money and we will help troubleshoot the issue to be 100% sure you need the head and not just some cheaper parts that may fix your machine.
  8. FC7000-100 error message

Yeah, the person you bought it from was probably using Flexi or some other RIP that uses a different language. When using the Graphtec plug-in it has to be setup for GP-GL. Also, on another note, that machine is no longer supported and very hard to get parts for. Hopefully you didn't pay too...
  9. Mimaki JV33 Color Drop Out

I would suspect a bad magenta damper or a bad seal between the damper connector and ink line. Do you know how old the cap top is? If it is over 1-2 years old I would change it. Also, double check that the pump is not clogged on either side and/or one of the tubes is not connected anymore. There...
  10. Has anyone had problems using Mutoh UMS inks...

I believe the recommend square footage in the brochure is more to say that the savings will be more apparent at that kind of volume and not that the machine requires that much printing to work properly. Everything else in the brochure says that the inks can sit longer than the previous versions...
  11. Problem with Window Perf and Optically clear laminate installation

Optically clear laminate is not very forgiving when it comes to little scratches from the squeegee. It may add too much cost and/or time to the job but I would mask it with cheap transfer tape and then remove it once it is installed all the way.
  12. Mutoh 1304

With CPU errors you usually need to replace the main board. One thing you could try first is taking the memory out and air dusting the terminal and cleaning of the leads with a swab. Reinstall the memory and see if that changes anything. I currently have a 1304 main board in stock that has been...
  13. Mirror

I understand now. Your tech used soft tube to make a splice in the ink line to connect the tube directly to the damper instead of using the connector that comes with the machine originally. In theory that should be fine but it is not the correct way to do it. I don't blame him though because the...
  14. Mirror

I have never tried it but I would expect there to be a risk with chrome and reflective for sure. Even having the heads up too high on white vinyl will cause issues. For mirrors, I would just have someone screen print them.
  15. Grainy Print on SP-300V

Moving to a new climate will change the way your printer prints. Like stated above, up the heat and make sure your material didn't get a bunch of dust on in during the move. Other than that, you may just need to try some new profiles due to the environment change. I use the Orajet 3641 profile a...
  16. Mirror

Exactly. The mirror will reflect the UV light back up into the heads and they will fry in a few passes.
  17. board compatability

Any board except the S series will work in your machine. The reason being that there are only 3 heads on the S series and the board is only set up to handle 3 heads instead of 4. Of course you will need to upload the firmware a parameters that match your machine size or you will run into issues.
  18. Graphtec Parts

EBay or Craigslist from a used machine as they no longer make parts for that machine. You could maybe cross reference a mechanical drawing of the machines to see if one of the newer machines shares the same part but that's about it.
  19. Print head condition pic inside!

That is a common issue with the JV3s. The capping station warps over time which allows the screws to slowly rise up. The head scrapes across the screw and you won't be able to recover the damaged nozzles. You will need to change the head if you cant get a good test print out of it anymore...
  20. do you think a 2ml 3m vinyl would hold up on a mug with dishwasher cleanings?

Aqua Print might be worth looking into. It's labor intensive so it may not be ideal for a large run but should work for smaller runs. Otherwise I would just sub the job out to a dye sublimation shop with a mug press.
