    No problem layering the vinyl, but what color is the background? Black reflective lights up white, so if the background is white it won;t be legible. For black lettering on white reflective I use my regular cast black vinyl.

    I have a friend who has a small machine shop set up, he did this by routing a piece of metal and attaching a handle to it. He didn't cut all the way thru, just deep enough so it burned the wood without touching the back of the plate.

    Usually fabricated in house. A sheet metal shop could bend them up for you.

    I prefer acrylic on smaller signs 4x8 or less, it's whiter and stays whiter longer. Polycarb for anything bigger, exposed to more stress or a need for seamless install.

    We bend our own trim on an 8' brake. You can use different colors of .040, paint it, or cover it with vinyl.

    I reading it as he's guessing it's about 350 s/f It could be 100 s/f. Three lines of 12" letters on two sides and proportional on the back with the name above the cab would be about that, and I have done just that on some box trucks.

    We install most of what we make. Sometimes sub out really large installs. Don't deal much in electric sign installs anymore. Installation is one of the services that separates us from the storefront sticker shop and the internet.
