  1. Engineering drawings for permit?

There are is at least one company that advertise in one sign magazines for doing the necessary documents. Other than that I would hit the "Yellow Pages" and find an engineer that will work with you. It's one of my gripes that the cost of a permit can easily exceed the cost of the job in some...
  2. Hanging HDU Sign Question

I agree with Gary. A strap up the side, 2" wide would be nice. Round the top edges and drill a hole for hanging. depending on the sign design it could be made to look industrial, paint it black and use some lags to fasten it. And on that topic I would use at least three lags on each side and...
  3. TBT Electric Sign & Aluminum Sign

I saw these two signs were still up after 30 years, done while I worked at Morgan Sign CO (now gone). The electric sign face is cut out red & black acrylic pinned to a white acrylic face. The face details were hand painted with black one shot. The other sign is .040 aluminum all hand lettered...
  4. ADVICE

uhh....none. Vinyl doesn't like wood unless it's been painted, in which case there are other materials to consider. When you say wood signs around sign makers you are referencing carved, sandblasted or natural plank backgrounds. Good luck.

  14. What large format vinyl would solve this problem, economically

Good to know Gary. We have handled some pretty miserable materials supplied by customers so I think we could handle it if that's the way we go.

That looks interesting, wish it was 60" though.
  16. What large format vinyl would solve this problem, economically

Hi Gary The IJ35C looks like a possibility, have you ever used it without laminating or transfer tape? We will be able to lay the panel down on a table while we work on them.
  17. What large format vinyl would solve this problem, economically

I have a project where I need to cover aprx 12 existing gatorfoam panels with white vinyl. They interior and are 60"x68" and smooth. I have to use something that is opaque. So I need something 60" wide, but I guess I could live with seams if absolutely necessary, but would prefer not to. I don't...

  20. Thinking about switching payroll services - from ADP to Square

Ask around, maybe some customers, other businesses, your accountant to see who else is available. We use a local service started by a former ADP employee, they are reasonably priced and very responsive to special requests.
