So its like a longer version of the loading assist tool?
That thing is very handy for getting some media past the platten so it doesn't bunch up, but my experience is that its difficult to insert the media into that with only one person. But the reason I'm spooling everything to the takeup...
How do you double up on the guides? Do you mean the edge holders? You can attach more than 1 pair?
I cant seem to find many people selling this kit. The only listing I see is this one for $405, which seems like a lot compared to just fashioning your own out of some scrap material. If you still...
I've got a worse story. My cofounder use to be a freelance graphic designer and purchased a several thousand dollar HP equipment at a trade show (where it was announced) and then got d/c 6 month later, rendering it useless. She was very reluctant to get another HP when we got our Latex.
We...
Coincidentally I installed some security cameras today that came with such a thing. It was a small removable sticker with a triangular hole pattern and it was very helpful. The adhesive was like a post-it note in that you can relocate it, which I had to do since my original install location...
We make window coverings and its easier to position the brackets if you have a template that can temporarily stick to the wall with where to drill the holes. I got the idea from an IKEA product but that was just a strip of paper with no adhesive backing so it wasnt easy to mount.
This is on a per job basis and not something I want to change the material roll for. A handheld label maker is the most ideal solution and I already did a proof of concept.
The Brother label makers do use a continuous roll.
I'm not looking for something to stand up to elements. It just needs to stay on the wall for a few minutes to guide our install before it is trashed. I ended up ordering a used QL1100 as Brother says it can do a 10' length so hopefully it works...
I agree that 'banner' is a weird way to phrase it. I was googling 'strip' until I found the brother website.
https://www.brother-usa.com/products/ql700
Also prints on continuous paper and tape rolls for banners and signs up to 3 ft. long
Although if you want to get super technical about it...
It seems like a very simple capability, but I cant believe how expensive some of these label printers get for making what is essentially a sticker. According to PCMag the Brother QL 1100 should be able to do make a 'banner' up to 10ft, but their specs say 3'. I ordered a much cheaper model as a...
Are there any good tutorials on adjusting the tension? Most things I've seen so far say that its an advanced feature that usually doesn't need to be touched.
I've been looking for a desktop sized roll printer that can print a long thin banner of removable tape. Its meant to be a 1-time use consumable. I was looking into Brother QL label makers as they sell something like that, but the specs say that it can only print up to 3 feet long banners even on...
I've always had it turn downwards as that was the easiest to tape and that's how the official HP video shows it, but then I saw this picture where it turns upwards.

It seems like this setup would provide more tension? Has anyone tried it...
I built mine out of aluminum extrusions, a rhino cutting mat, and wooden yard fencing as the table top since the mat is too flexible. Total size is 6'x10'. Cost was maybe $1000?
They say its 'optional' because you only need to go through with it if you want the parking permit for the open air parking. Every unit has a garage and 1 parking permit allocated to it in the compound. I rent but it doesn't matter in this case.
I have a theory that after we won the...
I have a lot of equipment and inventory still in there as I was working from home. They want to make sure all garages have room for cars, even though its now pointless as the complex switched to no public parking and every space requires a permit. I park a block down the street and have been for...
Thanks. I've been moving in for the last 3 weeks. Hoping that with 1-2 more and I can get basics up and running. Will probably be a full month before everything is finally settled. Good thing too cause my stupid HOA wants to do garage inspections so I need to get equipment out.
No it bunches up during loading. It has a hard time sliding past the top lip of the cover for some reason. I'll try it to see if it helps, but I thought those were for condensation?
You don't even use the takeup? This isn't with raw mesh is it?
Yes, I have the foam roller installed. I don't...
