Problem is that the best art/design schools also charge a ridiculous amount of money, hence why they expect relatively high starting pay. I've taken night classes at ACCD just to learn random stuff, but the people who actually get a degree there can come out with $100k+ in debt. Why someone...
According to what I've read from HP, 8 pass - 100% is the 'baseline' that everything is relative to. So if you go with less passes than that, in theory you are suppose to reduce the density. Vice versa, if you want to increase the density, you should increase the number of passes so that it has...
Sorry I can't share more at this very moment. My partner knows more about IP than me so I'm just following her lead as far as how much to reveal. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself asking about this in the first place. But we have a printer, some vinyl, half a ton of aluminum extrusions, and soon...
We only operate one type of printer and print on one type of media. We have to learn to do that part very well, sure, but it shouldn't require an apprenticeship if that's all we need to do. I've gotten us to the point where we are producing good prints and learned some basic debugging. My goal...
Well that person is me right now. I know everything well enough to get us going. But since much of that was learned in the last 6 months, I'm hoping someone with a bit more industry experience can bring something to the table that I can't figure out by accident.
We're starting a company that prints window coverings and will eventually want to hire someone with experience in wide format printing. We want someone who knows how to run and maintain the printers, prep files, improve our processes, and do some manual cutting as well. We currently have a used...
I wonder where the sensor is located for that to matter. I thought that by manually inputting the farther end of the material width as the total width and having it justify to the right side (tried Onyx setting and as part of the PDF itself) and neither worked.
I received a sample roll of media from our supplier that isn't attached to a roll. I wrapped it around a spare core I had but I had to center it since I'm doing this by hand, which resulted in 4-5 inches of exposed core on each side. The material is a mesh with a liner, so I would think that the...
Since our primary material is mesh, I've been using another roll of media for realigning the printheads. I wonder if I should use it for calibration too.
I've been waiting for this as well! Hope your little birds are right!
I've never ran white ink before, but if we wanted to print on something dark, would it be safe to assume that it would take twice as much ink and twice as much time?
So I took some dimensions and the foam appears to be roughly 18 cubic inches. Converted to mL, its about 288mL but lets round it down to 250 since the foam material does take up some space. So the foam should be fully saturated with 250mL of ink.
If a mesh has 50% air flow, I would think that...
I'm hoping that there was a good rule of thumb so that I don't find out that the trough is full only when it starts to smear the backside of my print. They don't seem to hold all that much ink from the looks of it.
Has anyone figured out more or less how much printing can be done before the ink collector needs to be rinsed out?
And is there a recommended procedure for rinsing it? I find it easier right after running the printer before the ink has a chance to dry, but it doesnt just flow off either. I...
Long term. I'm setting up a production line.
I think Latex it is then. I'm happy with the print quality of our 560. I just wish the ink was cheaper. I guess we can just move up to a 570 and hopefully a 1500 sooner than later.
If I wanted to switch to a new printhead for overnight printing so that there's minimal chance that it will have errors and I won't be around to catch it, then whats the best way to store the used one? I saw one HP video about cleaning it with distilled water, so would putting it in a tupperware...
