  1. Question Just checking - Strengths

I wouldn't go so far as to say that people actually "belong" where they are, because there a gazillion factors involved here. The ability for self-improvement is at the highest tier of Moslow's hierarchy, and the majority of people exist at the second or third level in the workplace. Some of...
  2. Question Just checking - Strengths

    Baaahhhhh! That's funny! JB
  3. Question Just checking - Strengths

Just two simple rules for employers here... 1) Train them well enough so they could go to work anywhere 2) Treat them well enough so they never want to leave JB
  4. Never been real fond of Uncial, until...

Sounds kinda dangerous...but it also sounds like just the right amount of adventure every youngster needs! JB
  5. Never been real fond of Uncial, until...

I've never really liked Uncial before, but now that I'm leaning toward a significant Celtic theme in my sales display yard / stone garden...it's kind of grown on me. For the first time ever, it occurred to me to add some plantings this year to give it a bit of life...it used to be a bunch of...
  6. Punctuation/Comma help needed

So a few of you learned a new word today. That's awesome! Ok, so it is a bit fancy schmancy. Andy will look like a hero if or when he presents it to the board. But be sure, it's pronounced "aw - spe - sis". And has nothing to do with that spice in pumpkin pie...or salmon...or...
  7. Punctuation/Comma help needed

Essentially, yes. But I wanted to be specific about it since the term "kerning" can also apply to individual or specific letter pairings. If you have time, try some of the changes mentioned and compare the two. Architects are good at what they do (designing buildings), but not always so in...
  8. Punctuation/Comma help needed

under the auspices of/ under someone's auspices. phrase. If something is done under the auspices of a particular person or organization, or under someone's auspices, it is done with their support and approval. [formal] Since it's for a school, it should sound a bit more formal than it currently...
  9. Punctuation/Comma help needed

Yes, the dates at the beginning of the sentences should have commas. I would prefer different wording for "run through" (perhaps, change to "under the auspices of"). And "run by" (perhaps change to "administered by"). These changes would also require further punctuation. Letter spacing and...
  10. A very different type of monument

With a heavy emphasis on "rage", I'd say. JB
  11. A very different type of monument

Hey, when you get a chance, check this out. If you ever find yourself out in Vermont, they offer tours of their quarry and operations. It won't let me share a link for the video, but you can scroll down and watch it. https://blog.rockofages.com/this-monument-is-for-the-living?utm_campaign=ROA...
  12. Font Help Kipling Tennis Poem Font. Any ideas?

The poem is entitled "If". What a treasure....thanks for sharing...albeit unintentionally. JB "If" - If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you, But make allowance for their doubting too...
  13. Font Help Kipling Tennis Poem Font. Any ideas?

I've never seen so much truth crammed into such an itty bitty sentence. JB
  14. Font Id

The lettering is surely ZC, but the numerals are not. JB
  15. Question Does anyone know how these signs are made?

When it comes to philosophy, I absolutely love HL founder David Green's remarks about his own products. He literally claims that there's not one thing in his store that people absolutely "need". Yes, it's probably true since we can live on bread, water and a few fruits and veggies. But just...
  16. Question Does anyone know how these signs are made?

It would take very sophisticated tooling and presses to stamp a pre-coated sheet...not to mention paints / coatings that don't flake or abrade. It's typically done with appliances such as washers/dryers/ranges, etc...but that is a totally different coating altogether. JB
  17. Question Does anyone know how these signs are made?

I'm going to take a wild guess and say dye sublimation. I have one something similar to the first sign, and I'm pretty sure they're not cutting joint lines after the fact. As far as the corrugated sign goes, it would require a contoured silicone nest and print pad. The panel would need to be...
  18. Do you have a card?

Brilliant. I didn't realize you could easily share contact info like that. I did some checking on my phone, and it looks like I'd send it as a .vcf file. Thanks! JB
  19. Do you have a card?

More than once, I've asked a business professional for their card. After a few seconds of rummaging through their wallets, they typically pull out nasty, damp (butt cheek sweat, I presume?) business card that usually has something scribbled on the back. I, too, have been in the same...
  20. New logo from up north - way up north.

Here's how it was explained to me: Iceland is relatively green...and Greenland is covered in ice. Go figure. JB
