Am installing new DX4 print head in a SC-540. Service manual states to remove ink from the line, however, I'm running bulk tanks - so want to bypass that. I imagine the head is empty, so how do I proceed?

Just completed the install and was easy. The motor is a bit larger than what I removed and is noisier in terms of high-pitch sound. Gave it age test and appears to be solid. Have a couple large boat prints to run, about an hour and 45 each. That will be the break-in session.

In contribution to this thread; Have had close calls, but haven't fired anyone yet. If I feel they will be too difficult from the start, I say no with pricing. And having had some close encounters of the 6th kind, I make amendments to the site every time I experience something different. Then...

It is. Have had much success with it over the years and have used it on other mediums. I'll inform the customer of the way I'm doing it (which is what they are anticipating) and add in a caveat. It's still a couple weeks out for me as I'm tied up, and I'll add a seal to the edges ass well...

Getting new metal panels is not an option at this present time, and I don't want to mislead the client, or leave myself stuck. And as I don't have the experience in this particular area, and is at their request, I'm going to guess what would happen if I were to apply a large solid piece of print...

Have a customer who needs two metal signs redone. About 73"w by 45"t. Appears it was once printed on a flatbed, and I can somewhat feel the raised text. Is there a certain type of print media that will work on such a surface - life expectancy - prep other than a good cleaning?
