I realize this is an old thread but I'm really curious, trying to settle a dispute between my coworker and I. We have a current project that is primarily black lettering on white, backlit. Can't we just use regular black cut vinyl for that? I don't see how printing black on translucent is going...

I believe the printer automatically measuring (though obviously incorrectly) to be the problem. It looks like it's reading it at 24" and I don't see a way to fix that. The RIP program is at 27", I created a profile just for it.

Yeah, we're getting a new one at the end of this week and we're just trying to get by until then. Fortunately our new printer doesn't require laminate on everything so it's not horrible. My coworker has been making adjustments to the old laminator, but we're having the same problem, works well...

I think that is the route we'll be going with as well, but they're still looking for a replacement and in the meantime I'm having to reprint about half of everything and going a little crazy in the process. Just wondering if there's anything we can do temporarily.

Hey all, hopefully one of you can help me out. I was plotting on the Mimaki this morning and it looks like the blade pulled back on a large section of the vinyl and backing and got jammed. I cleared out the vinyl and wiped the blade no problem but now my pressure settings are all WAY off...

I don't think so, seems to have trouble just as much on the beginning of a roll as the end.

I should also note that it isn't every print. I mean literally the same thing can be printed twice and one will be off and the other can be fine.
