  1. No Snowflakes or Bleedinghearts need to post

The idea that the founding fathers didn't have a particular weapon in mind is a popular talking point for a lot of people but somewhat of a misdirection. Automatic weapons didn't exist at the time, which makes that a true statement. However the founding fathers had weapons that allowed them to...

  5. Colorado 1650 Printing Stickers ?? Laminate or Not ??

Prints off the Colorado are pretty durable. We don't typically laminate them. Victor mentioned that the ink from UV printing sits on top of the vinyl so there is bigger possibility of silvering from air under the laminate.

  10. What is the best tool to use for "contour" cutting of coroplast?

If you're cutting 4mm coro, then Exacto will work as well or better than the options you asked about. If you're cutting 10mm then a jigsaw or trim router will be the way to go. Regardless if it's 4 or 10mm, if it's more than a few pieces at a time then outsource it to one of the wholesale...
  11. need feedback on Colex sharpcut sxc1717

Our Colex does a great job cutting full rolls of decals. We have the 3hp router and cut .080 aluminum a lot, and .125 aluminum occasionally without any issues. Cutting larger than table size is a question for Colex.
  12. Question Digital marketing a sign shop with no money?

Here are a few no cost suggestions. Some take a lot of work and have to be maintained to be effective. E-blast customers, and prospects that didn’t order, every 3-4 weeks with an offer or relevant information Ask customers to link to your website. Donate service/product to a charity and ask...
  13. yard card signs and big head /fat head signs

An exact-o knife should work for a few cut-outs. A shop near me does their one-off standees that way. Anything bigger than a couple pieces takes too much time so they send them over to me to run on a cutting table.
  14. Question How to you make large purchasing decisions?

First question for me is - What’s the true Return on Investment? After that i have to figure out if it will fit in my building.
  15. ISO 13-inch color printer for posters, 100-200 a week

As a point of comparison, ink for an HP Latex printer is $100-125 per liter. ink costs run between .12 and .20 per square foot depending on media and coverage. Ink for the Eason P5000 is $400-500 per liter. That could put your ink costs in the .48 to .80 per square foot range.
  16. Need Help Can someone help me with this issue?

What printer do you have? There should be a bi-directional alignment test/adjustment on the printer. The other long shot possibility is the black head temp could be too low and it’s slow to fire.(used to run into that on a NUR printer)
  17. Opinion Wall Substrate cutter, Recommendations?

We have a fletcher and a keen. They are both good choices but have slight differences. The keen hold down is more solid for acm and aluminum. The Fletcher is much faster for cutting down coroplast and cardboard. A panel saw would be a much better choice for 6mm ACM and heavier aluminum.
  18. Need Help Color Consultants - Who have you hired, or who would you hire?

For color work we've used Mike Adams at Correct Color out of Austin for about 10 years. He's profiled all of our flatbeds and roll stock printers. I highly recommend him. http://correctcolor.org/
  19. How long do you keep vehicles in your shop after a wrap/decals are installed

We have customers waiting to drive them away as soon as we finish. In Houston, TX we don't have the extreme cold weather so maybe the question never came up.
