Thanks for the feedback. Based on these experiences, makes you wonder how they can keep selling it!
  2. Fellers "Gamut" and "Solvex" wrap vinyls

Looking for any feedback regarding Fellers "Gamut" and/or "Solvex AE CarWrap" vehicle wrap vinyls. These are significantly less than comparable Oracal or 3M products, but are they any good? How are they to use? How do they print? Thanks so much for your comments.
  3. Washington State distributors?

I drove right to Summa and bought my cutter from them, dealt with Drew. So, yes, they do sell direct.
  4. Triangle Inks - To move or not to move.

Really? See post #7. I've been using Triangle MLD inks since my machine was new (over 4 yrs now) and have had ZERO issues as a result of the ink. I've saved SO much over OEM, plus have experienced superior color gamut, chemical resistance and abrasion resistance over OEM that it is an...
  5. Anyone injection mold signs?

Although I've personally not yet dealt with them, they are literally just down the street from where I currently work. How cool!
  6. Roland service bullitin - Cap Tops (consumable)

I have found that I need to replace my cap tops about every 6 months to a year at the most. I think this is partly due to running Triangle ink, which is a bit hotter than OEM ink.

  10. Just upgraded from 12 to X3 - Corel

No issues with Corel X3 on any of my machines, which vary quite a bit. One is an ancient AMD 1900+ with 512MB of RAM (maybe 1GB, I forget). Though it is slower on this one, it's really not bad at all with most files of reasonable complexity. I have to say that I like the improvements...

  12. Reducing Nodes in Corel 12

I noticed that when I went from v12 to v13 (X3) that the # of nodes generated was far reduced. Still to reduce the nodes, first use the Shape Tool (F10), choose the Select All Nodes icon (to do this quickly anyway), then hit the Reduce Nodes icon which is now available after selecting the nodes.
  13. perfcut contour

You MUST precisely name it either CutPath or CutContour and it must also be of hairline width I believe...I forget which name for sure since I use SoftRip but the idea is the same.
  14. Warped in Seattle

Hello and welcome, we're up in Marysville
  15. Advice for getting a small vinyl setup off the ground

PLEASE do NOT be a low-baller just because you "don't have the overhead of a big shop." Get some experience by doing some free jobs for friends and family, and then charge a fair price that reflects your local market. There is a lot to learn and it doesn't come on overnight.
  16. X3 Array? Pattern?

    In Corel, it is TRANSFORM.
  17. Help with printed back lit signs

How do you ensure perfect registration of the two prints so the final image doesn't look fuzzy or out of focus? This has always been the stopping block for me, so I either just print one with a dbl-strike or outsource it.
  18. do you use after market ink's

Have used nothing but Triangle MLD bulk ink in my SP-540V since it was new (almost 4 yrs now). I can heartily recommend it.

+1 for PhotoZoom Pro 2...though I've heard really good things about AlienSkin BlowUp as well. I think either would be fine.
