  2. Roland SP-540V - contour-cutting off

Brand new encoder strip a coupla months ago...along with a new black/cyan head...and a pretty through "once over" by a good tech.
  3. Roland SP-540V - contour-cutting off

We cannot seem to get the contour-cutting back on track. I think it MAY be that some parts are simply starting to go (machine is 4+ yrs old now) and that may be it. Seems like we can only get about 24" in the Y-direction (as the material feeds) to cut with any amount of accuracy. Beyond that...
  4. Price Check

    Sounds about right to me.
  5. Need to create profiles for my VP-540 / VersaWorks

Before they were bought out, I picked up an EyeOne Proof (brand new off ebay for about $1000 I believe). Additionally, I hired someone to come in and actually show me how to make profiles. IMHO, both are essential to this exercise.
  6. New computer, should i go XP or Windows 7

Don't you have to use Win 7 Pro in order to get the XP compatibility mode? I was considering getting the Win 7 home 3-pack, but if you have issues and need the XP mode, then what?
  7. Sled wraps....

As a starting point, I took rubbings on paper, then measured them and redesigned in the computer.
  8. Masking glass for sandblasting

I did some good sized mirrors for the city a while back and I used Hartco 310S if memory serves. It's thicker than regular vinyl and comes of much easier when you want it to.
  9. A general "Future of the Industry" discussion

Bob, great commentary and insight, I completely agree! Reminds me of an article I read a while back about one of the most revered shoemakers (though I cannot come up with the name). He still fills a niche and commands exorbant prices...good for him.
  10. My new website built around wordpress

Pretty cool, I didn't know you could do all of that with Wordpress.
  11. Windows 7 Upgrade today - 3 machines

Hey I just looked up a reference from another thread on this and if you are upgrading directly from WinXP, then it says you MUST do a clean install?! Can anyone confirm or refute this?
  12. Windows 7 Upgrade today - 3 machines

These were UPGRADEs, not a clean installs? Just wanted to clarify as I am considering this as we speak (as I'm sure many are). I know that a clean install is always preferred over an upgrade, but it is so painful to reinstall everything (which I've done many times and have yet to find a great...
  13. HEPLLL!!! ...crooked print

+1 for encoder strip...clean or replace.
  14. Arlon wrap kit pros & cons

Curious...has anyone used the latest Arlon 6000XRP material yet? Would like to see some reviews if available.
  15. Ford Transit Connect (the new baby sprinter)

Cool! We're doing one in a week or so.
  16. Shop tables

Oh yeah, DEFINITELY invest in casters...you'll wish you had if you don't! I also built mine with storage underneath. A point to consider too is the overall height. I made mine 42" tall, but your mileage may vary.
  17. Shop tables

I guess if price is no option to you...then go right ahead. I have two large tables, one 4x8 and one 5x10...no way I'd spend that kinda dough on a table, when I can build them for about 1/5 of those costs!
  18. 10 Tundras ...2 days...1 guy!

Wow, impressive amount of work in that time.
  19. Great deal on Windows 7

Too bad there isn't a similar deal for Win7 Professional (which you will need if you require WinXP mode).
  20. Accepting Credit Cards

I used MW for a while, but as Mike Paul mentioned, most all cards you will get corporate/gov't cards (at least it's been this way for us). As such, they fall in the mid-qual or non-qual rate which is a bit over 3%. We went away from MW because their mid and non-qual rates were quite a bit...
