  1. Thru-cutting loooong strips...How would you do it?

I need to make thousands of these things on an ongoing basis.
  2. Thru-cutting loooong strips...How would you do it?

I'm looking into subbing it out to someone who owns a press for the small rolls, but in the mean time I have to produce them on JV33 54" printers. I have some flatbed plotters, but they are not big enough. I'm using some Summa friction fed plotters to kiss cut, but the through-cut makes tracking...
  3. Thru-cutting loooong strips...How would you do it?

This is something different than I've ever had experience with, and I'm wondering how you all handle it. The project is made up of 6"x110" rectangles that are solvent printed on 30"x150' rolls of vinyl, laminated and finally through-cut. The cut needs to be clean and preferably all the way...
  4. RS Rear take-up reel

I have two RS laminators; 42" and a 30". I specifically asked for a take-up on the back and was told they were not available. Where did you buy yours?! How much is that option? We ended up making one, but now I need another and would rather just buy it (if it's not too pricey.) Thanks
  5. CS2_Images moving when file reopened

I've seen that several times, but have never had the time to try and figure out the cause. Can't wait to see what you find! Good luck!!!
  6. Edge Original - stretching the punched holes

Sometimes this happens to us when we run non-Gerber or "Edge Ready" material. The hole pattern is close, but not quite right. If you haven't changed to an off brand material though, it's probably in line the suggestions above.
  7. Carpet decal substrate for bassboat carpets

    somewhere on Signs101.
  8. engine turn and reg. marks

I'm guessing that you are printing on Silver metallic? The sensor's eye is red, the mark is black and the material is silver- that color combo will provide very little contrast. if you have a UV printer, print white around the marks. You can also print yellow ink on clear vinyl with a solvent...
  9. Carpet decal substrate for bassboat carpets

I recall a thread about this recently. Try searching the forum. There were lots of suggestions. Good Luck!
  10. New Partial Wrap for Shop Truck

Looks awesome! What materials/inks did you use?
  11. Hello 3D modelers

Is this forum just for mock-ups, or will it include discussion of 3d printers? They are great for making master models for molds that could be used for casting metal plaques or signs http://www.deltamaker.com/ I had a compucarve for a while, but could never get the fine detail I was after...
  12. What's your preferance and why?

If calendared material were to fail, how long do you think it would take to lift from a channel? Just looking for an average; I realize each climate is different. Thanks, Miked
  13. What's your preferance and why?

I'm not really worried about any channels or rivets because we are not doing full wraps. We are doing stripes.
  14. What's your preferance and why?

Update! just got done with SGIA in Orlando and got tons of feedback that I thought I would share: It looks like calendared vinyl has come a long way. New polymeric plasticizers and adhesive systems make it last 3-5yrs outdoor. The polymerics are more tightly integrated into the pvc and less...
  15. Bass Boat Carpet Sponsor Logos - What to use?

Flexcon has floor graphic materials for this very purpose. They have vinyl with adhesive that is made for different types of carpeted surfaces. They will also match a laminate for you that will keep anyone from slipping on it when it gets wet. Flexcon is kind of like Summa in regard to...
  16. What's your preferance and why?

glad for the MACtac insight.... their marketing people are about to unleash the "...most durable laminate ever!" at the SGIA show next week. 3M has the branding and warranty, but I've seen some really impressive stuff done with Arlon. I saw some youtube vids of one of their techs doing an...
  17. What's your preferance and why?

What do you all think of MACtac material for partial wraps / giant vehicle graphics?
  18. What's your preferance and why?

Thanks! We have solvent opions and large thermal transfer, but we are willing to buy a new printer just for this project. What are the best ink types for wraps? Thanks again for all your help!
  19. What's your preferance and why?

Jester1167, what is your experience with MACtac? I am curious about PERMACOLOR HORIZon laminate Thanks for helping me understand this!
  20. PERMACOLOR® HORIZon™ Overlaminate "The most durable wrap laminate..."

has anyone ever looked at PERMACOLOR® HORIZon™ Overlaminate? I have been going through posts here looking to find out what the pros use for wraps and found it's usually 3M, Arlon or Avery. I got an email about MacTac's Permacolor Horizon Overlaminate this morning, and was wondering what you all...
