  1. signVOX webinar - see what's its about and new features

D'oh, just yesterday I was talking to the owner about getting into a webinar. Do you still do scheduled demos 1 on 1(2)? I'd like to get you and Vox in front of the owner & store manager in the very near future.
  2. Trying to Blur a very large word

Illustrator CS6 is 64bit with a much higher raster effects limit, but doing such things really is better in Photoshop as that's what it's built for.
  3. Commercial location vs home page based shop

Home based only if you're a niche specialist who can pick and choose jobs OR you don't have any aspirations of making good money some day. Otherwise commercial because you'll need to scale up quite a bit to get into good money in most areas of sign work.
  4. New website...

I do more business web consulting (design+seo), focused around wordpress, than anything else right now. I'm not so much a Woo user as a WP enthusiast (going on 6 years...) who's worked with basically every framework. Woo is pretty solid.
  5. Apparently France hates investments and innovation

Most of France's wealthy are already in London and other locales. There's a huge difference in mobility between moving within the Eurozone for your permanent residence and moving your permanent residence out of the USA. It's also worth noting that of developed nations, the US and the UK have the...
  6. Apparently France hates investments and innovation

I'll also chip in that I don't think the actual tax rate is the first problem to tackle ... we don't even collect 35% at 35%, as Romney's tax returns show. The richer you are, the more easily you can disguise income as capital gains and be taxed at 15% (or less, in many cases) or use various...

  10. Apparently France hates investments and innovation

    a) Yes, that makes him a fat cat. b) By investing in the business he'd have lower taxable income. A higher tax rate INCREASES investment back into businesses, not lowers it. I don't think you understand how taxes or economics work. c) As Randya pointed out, during much of the boom years of the...
  11. New website...

If you want to change the theme font you can do so easily using the plugin WP Google Fonts. With newer WooThemes themes you can just do that from the backend but you're on Coffee Break, which is older and may not have Google Web Font selections built into the backend.
  12. onyx profiling

No, they aren't. One is the PMS Spot as interpreted by Onyx, one is the Pantone Process Color version of that spot. The Process Color swatch should match the Process Color swatch in your Bridge book (right side), the PMS Spot should get even closer (typically) to the actual PMS than the Process...
  13. phone etiquette

The French tend to be very politically active so your metaphor has a few...problems. They also have very good manners they're just very different from American 'nice', and by-and-large the perception that the French are jerks comes from Parisians (and is pretty accurate...just like it's pretty...
  14. Adobe Muse

Don't bother with metatags (not used for SEO, has no other purpose so it's a waste of time) and metadescription isn't SEO it's user conversion (shown in SERPs but has no SEO weight). SEO is all in proper semantic markup, good h tags, lda optimized content and backlinks.
  15. SignVox Down?

You should ditch GoDaddy entirely, they're awful people and the service is junk compared to other registrars (I prefer namecheap.com).
  16. Cms

WordPress > * for operations of your scale. Drupal for really, really huge ventures. WP stripped down to just a CMS: https://github.com/franz-josef-kaiser/WP-Strip-Naked Great WP themes for development based on HTML5 boilerplate: http://www.rootstheme.com/ http://themble.com/bones/
  17. Salary vs. Hourly

$20-30/hr / equiv. salary. It's a wide skillset listed which can either be a good thing (a go getter) or a bad thing(someone who just learns surface skills and never dives into one particular area). I consider $20/hr to be the bottom line for any job worth having. In areas with low cost of...
  18. L25500 Vertical Banding lately?

Started seeing it on thin cast vinyls printing light solid colors (i.e. a flood of cyan). Going to be cleaning out the platen holes tonight as Type suggested.
  19. Vector Software

...learning the difference between the direct selection tool and the selection tool solves 90% of your issues, and removing nodes hasn't broken a path in like ten years. The rest of your issues are solved by learning isolation mode.
