  4. Thoughts and opinions...

I am not interested. However, there are plenty of good examples to be found just among signs101 members. Off the top of my head: http://www.coloradosigns.com/ http://www.insignia-signs.com/ http://www.forgepdx.com/ http://www.think-signs.com/
  5. are they failing that often? (Print Heads)

We've used both styles, much prefer the HP consumables. Replacing a head on our mimaki jv3 takes us down for a half a day or more by the time you get done recalibrating it. Calculate the cost of the heads as a consumable in your ink costs and you still come out at a great square foot cost and...
  6. Thoughts and opinions...

If that isn't sarcasm, you're welcome :). If it is, I'm serious, it looks like something done by an amateur in the late 90s. It's completely unappealing and is not projecting a professional image. Hire someone who specializes in web design, just as you would prefer that web designer hires a sign...
  7. Brighter Orange

For what it's worth Triangle's Mimaki inks have a more vibrant magenta than the OEM, which means brighter oranges. But yeah, without calibration you're just spitting in the dark. Colormunki is a start anyway.
  8. Fun little project for my garage!

Wow people really don't understand fair use. Using something "at home" without a profit motive does not put the item into fair use. It's still infringement. Nice try though! I'd take down the pics...
  9. Wow! I think I found my Software?

Buy UPC active battery backup units with amperage 25-50% over your active draw. It's not cheap but neither is frying a computer or losing work to a rolling brown out.
  10. Thoughts and opinions...

I think you should hire a web designer.
  11. Go team GB

In all seriousness though I've spent about three months in London on various vacations and it has a lot going for it and so does GB in general, best of luck competing in and running the games.
  12. Go team GB

Hey thanks for reminding me it's almost football season. Go Green Bay Packers indeed! ;)
  13. HP L25500 Pros and Cons?

...while I find Onyx extremely good and quite easy to use at a basic level while supporting more advanced workflows as well. Best color of all the RIPs we've tested as well. If you were on x10 running a L26500 you would have had problems, x10.1 is required for the L25500/L26500.
  14. What about your sign?

Are you allowed to paint the brick on the building? Just curious. The color and appearance is really limiting and very specific to it's time period. Can be worked around but if you have options to alter it, that opens things up.
  15. Kernel Task??? OMG MAKE IT STOP!!!

175% of cpu is because there are multiple cpus (well, multiple cores). Just like you can have 400% ink coverage on a 4-color printer.
  16. Do you 'tag' your signs?

Yes unless it's a trade job. Drives a lot of sales. Our competitors in the area do the same, most much more heavy handed then we are. Not that it matters since we trade print for all of them...
  17. Wow! I think I found my Software?

We use Jetflex, works very well, they have profiles for the L25500 on their website. Only problems are on really long runs if we don't watch it the take up will walk and the head will catch an edge as there aren't any media guides.
  18. L25500 For your information

We don't do anything to them, most last ~6k, some to 10k. One in a few dozen will only last a short while but warranty has always covered it.
  19. gamma settings on ips monitor?

Hardware calibrate it. i1 if you already have one otherwise a spyder. Until then your gamma should be 2.2 and use the OS's built in eye-ball calibration to set the rest of your levels/brightness/contrast.
  20. SEO - Should you target the largest city near you or town?

Hire a local search expert. Work on your business, not in it, and not in a skill area that isn't even in your business core.
