  1. Website Wired In - GO

Quick top of head thoughts: 1) Nav bar isn't obvious enough, blends in 2) A/B test the color your Quote block (upper right), I suspect the grey isn't helping conversions. 3) Have a couple 404's: http://www.centrosigns.com/templates/centrosigns/images/system/featuredItem.png...
  2. Cell vs Landline business phone

Brick n' mortar should have a landline (any permutation, I favor VoIP). If you're a freelancer a cell is fine but I'd set up Google Voice or something so that you can separate out your personal from business calls.
  3. 3M has a new non-PVC vinyl

Maybe which subforum I posted this in will clue you in a bit. PHTH is a pseudo-estrogen and has been traced to a number of very nasty cancers along with impact on fertility rates and a slew of other health concerns. Eliminating it from the environment is a good thing to work towards. That's why...
  4. 3M has a new non-PVC vinyl

So far just a cast version for vehicle wraps is out but hopefully they expand to a full line. I'd love to use non-PVC, phthalate free mediums for all of our interior jobs (especially schools...). I also hope Oracal sees this and gets in the game, or is already working on something similar...
  5. Website photos

Embedded metadata is the major reason (camera information, geolocation information sometimes, photoshop metadata, etc.) but beyond that they're just better compression algo's than in use by the main image programs. It's standard procedure in the web world as every byte counts. Important enough...
  6. best sub 500 laptop

Go to http://shop.lenovo.com -- choose laptops from the drop down, then in the left menu click "less than $500". Buy any one of those.
  7. Website photos

After you run that you'll want to run them through a lossless compression utility like PunyPNG or Smush.it. There's still tons of unnecessary data in that JPG wasting space not needed on the web.
  8. Chiroprator Sign Layout

Clipart picture of a duck in an oval frame.
  9. Costco vs Walmart vs Retailers

The Costco CEO (or rather, former, he just retired in January) is one of those whom I really look up to. Constantly disproves theories about why business "must" be cut-throat and dehumanizing.
  10. Wifi signal boosters

Came into the thread to rep Ubiquiti, great products.
  11. E-Commerce?

This is one of the few situations where I don't recommend WordPress or Drupal (I never recommend Joomla...). I recommend using a hosted ecommerce solution like Shopify. For ecommerce needs too big for Shopify, try Volusion. If you really need to self-host, Magento (but be warned, there's a high...
  12. Proud of this one

Impressive turn-around but I can't get past the name FREEDOM FUEL. So bad. Freedom from what? A heavy wallet?
  13. Tax question on purchased items?

Ask your CPA, not the internet.
  14. For GEEKS only!

Here's a home automation project I backed that looks very promising: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/smartthings/smartthings-make-your-world-smarter http://smartthings.com/ Also T3 the Nest API should be released soon, once it is Nest should be able to be integrated into Insteon, Z-Wave...
  15. Any Photographers in the room?

Still shooting on DSLR until Canon glass gets deeper into the micro 4/3 market. I carry a T2i as an "everyday" shooter with prime lenses and it's not much bulkier or heavier than the micro 4/3's stuff. It is crop frame but it has good video and coupled with cheap primes takes amazing shots for...
  16. For GEEKS only!

There have been a lot of home automation projects on kickstarter, ever since the Nest thermostat was so successful. It's great to see so much activity in that sector. I'm in the planning stages now of my home automation and it seems like every day there's a new product on the horizon that will...
  17. signVOX webinar - see what's its about and new features

By the way, you should set www.signvox.com as canonical and forward signvox.com to www.signvox.com. Right now when you visit signvox.com (no www) it gives a page not found. Easy way to turn people off.
  18. System restore on XP- what is restored?

Time to move to Google Apps for Business ;).
  19. signVOX webinar - see what's its about and new features

I'll put my elbow to them today and have the store manager contact you to arrange.
  20. System restore on XP- what is restored?

Try Recuva, great free recovery software. If it doesn't find it, download a trial of R-Studio and if it finds what you're after, buy it and recover. Try not to use the drive you lost info on until after you've determined if recovery is possible.
