I don't think you could curve dibond that much - I would find a sheet metal shop capable of bending the alum sheet to your specs, make a frame with the same curve radius, attach - that is, after you made the sign.
+1 :thumb: and get rid of clients who whine about this or that color "little bit darker/lighter" or whatnot...If/when you print long enough you'll learn what your printer does. Try that first - you can always spend $$ on profiles later. Good luck!
if you want to be cheap put some tape on aluminum sheet (it's not expensive, it's only $10 @ home depot for 12"x24") and spray it. clear coat afterwards. go have a drink.
as the title says:

if your RIP allows for custom ink set, do that and fill the other four with cleaning solution.
I do that with Epson 9800 - 8 color running in CMYK only.
what's the substrate? how long of a lifetime expected? you could laminate the prints - for now, to save the job while looking for solution. or you can mount PET on top of clear adhesive - 4x8 sheet is about $15.
Hey Art whatsup. I couldn't care less about the name brand - the only reason for Epson was/is the straight paper path (and the $$ of course) - allows to stick rigid media in there. And 42" is even smaller than 44" - the guy was talking 48"
I would go with Epson 9700 - it's a CMYK printer - so ink cost is less , don't need a RIP, you can just run it from the driver, the driver has as much control as you ever need to do what you do. You can use refillable carts with 3rd party inks - I have never use OEM inks - fill it up with what I...
If you're not married to 48" you can go with Epson 9xxx series (44") - for 10K you can get two brand new machines and still have some $$ left - and there are no issues with heat or whatnot that you have to deal with if you go with latex.
Find somebody with DTG printer, have them print the wallets - the pre-treat will stick to aluminum, don't listen to nay sayers, clear coat afterwards and you're done. Ask me how I know it.:toasting:
I print on zinc and stainless steel all day along - with water based inks - PM me and I'll try to answer any questions you have - that is if I know the answer, of course.
make sure the print mode is on "roll" - both on the panel and the driver (or RIP) - when you print on sheet the printer will spit the sheet out once the print is done, it sounds that's what yours doing. I've seen it many times - and it hsould take care of the error massage also. good luck.
Print it? If you have a printer, that is - there is a sh^&^load of copper "textures" out there - free and not so much. You'll have absolute control over the image.
