These were HUGE print files... most of my Flexi files are usually 100% vector and only have temp files ranging between 20mb-1Gb.
If you're not working with large raster files you could probably get away with a 2Gb-4Gb scratch/ram disk
You can set the Temporary Files location in the application preferences.
Edit Menu > Preferences > File Paths (Tab)
I have my temp files located on a separate partition (for reasons other than speed) and when I'm working with large print files I can have temp files that are 12-20 GB.
What version are you using?
I could never figure out how to input a size in Photoshop when drawing shapes.
What I do now is draw the shape to size in Illustrator and then copy and paste it as a Smart Object into Photoshop.
Otherwise you can use Photoshop to create various design elemnts then...
Just need to have an email account that supports push and your all set. Don't have to run any software on your computer for it to work (that's what I had to do with my old BB)
Yeah I really want an iPad, especially for reading books... I'm waiting for the 2nd gen iPad... I usually jump at all...
Ummm... iPhone has had push email (and contacts, and calendar) for some time now Chirs???
I'm on my 3rd iPhone and wouldn't consider using anything else. I used to have a BlackBerry but once push email came to iPhone I switched that day.
The new iPhone 4 is amazing, the screen is gorgeous and...
That's how my FC8000 is connected.
I didn't have to adjust any settings. Just selected the plotter in Production Manager and it worked.
I don't know much about your plotter so I don't think I'll be able to help much more... maybe someone else will chime in.
Dan,
I have to agree that it's not a good idea to let any of your vendors know too much about a project until you've sold the job.
I've just seen so many posts (on S101 and other forums) that make it seem like DAK is intentionally going around to sign companies and stealing their customers. In...
SignManiac.. Don't worry about DAK selling direct to your customer. The reps in FL are good at keeping their dealers happy. I've heard many stories of DAK selling direct to customers but the reps I know wouldn't do that. In fact my DAK rep sends ME leads on a regular basis.
99% of the EMC's we install use radio communication.
I have a customer in Savannah with a DAK unit that's set about 300' from the building. The signal comes from inside the building and has to travel through two concrete block walls. Works every time.
If you're unsure have your rep from...
Have SAi send you a Mac demo... if they still do that. Then you can be sure it'll work for you.
I run Flexi 8.5 on Snow Leopard but I connect to Production Manager on a Windows XP machine (via our network) for all my output.
