  1. Precise Cuts through Vinyl without a Knife

Well like everything, the rolls probably cost 25 cents a pop from china, but the shipping and handling are a fixed cost. ...and what kind of "handling" do you get for your money? Sweaty fingerprints? Is it professional handling or minimum wage fumbling? I would not want to pay for...
  2. Do you leave your laminator webbed up all the time?

Yup. If it runs over one side of the other a quarter inch all it does is squeek a little, but there is too little to bind or catch. Most of the time I'll have it dead on. Thats why adhesive and lam are in the same standard sizes. How wide is your printer?
  3. Laminate Nightmare on Perf

Tried many different ways, I keep going back to not laminating unless the customer requests it. Non laminated you get rain in the holes, dirt build up and wear under the wipers, Laminated you get hazing (even with optically clear), doming when the air in the bubbles heats up and bulges, I...
  4. Do you leave your laminator webbed up all the time?

Backing paper for when you are laminating something that is smaller than the roll of lam. So it doesn't stick to the rollers and bed. I mostly use Kraft to wrap finshed signage going out though. Oh and I don't use a leader board. Most of my lam is oracal with a nice stiff backing paper...
  5. Do you leave your laminator webbed up all the time?

I use a 54 inch lam on 54 inch adhesive most of the time. I usually leave the last laminate on the machine until I need to reuse or change to another and I always gap the rollers to stop a flat spot developing. The bottom feed roller is a convenient place to keep the roll of kraft paper...
  6. Does anyone here remove signs under the cover of darkness?

Something wrong with a socialist state? (there is a huge difference between socialism and communism, Socialists are actually in the middle).:Canada: Actually the TV news program really screwed that guy by posting his screw-ups.
  7. is it possible to feed coro signs through a laminator?

...dry erase? yup, probably best to do one at a time. dry erase is pure evil.
  8. is it possible to feed coro signs through a laminator?

yup, if you can mount adhesive onto coro using a laminator I don't see any difference laminating... you may have to use a backing sheet if the lam is larger than the coro though. let us know the results.
  9. Retailers Ready To Force Consumers To Pay ‘Swipe Fee’ For Using Plastic

Just ignore the compulsory tax by private monopolies, before long you can ignore the boot on your neck. After all nothing bad can come of letting something like this carry on....? remember, banks are doing this to look after your best interests.
  10. Retailers Ready To Force Consumers To Pay ‘Swipe Fee’ For Using Plastic

just run a discount for cash. Not illegal anywhere. The whole idea of Credit Cards has run it's course. There in no physical need for a third party to guarantee payment. You are starting to see online transactions systems like smartphone payments that are bank to bank and don't need the...
  11. Finally! (didnt have to purchase any media)

Congrats, you are on your way to having 20 rolls of various materials hanging around in the space behind your printer. Not to mention the 20 more "end-of-the-rolls" with a couple of feet on that will be perfect for a little job. I just threw out almost an entire roll of mesh because it had...
  12. roller marks in print

In 5 years I don't think I have had to clean my rollers or any residue more than an annual spring clean. Unless there is registration issues with print/cut I run with just the side rollers on adhesive. I notice marks more on things with an air release like 3M 180, but it doesn't change...
  13. Have yet to figure it out ~!@#$%^&*(

I too have a VP540, 5 years old, versaworks. With poster paper I usually leave the prints either loosely rolled or draped over a drying rack overnight. of all things paper is the longest curing, especially when I'm going to lam. However if your are still "wet" either your profile is dropping...
  14. Tough Call......................

this is not about the abuse, this is not even about the cover-up. It is a message to the rest of the universities with any sports program. Frankly this was light. They still have a team and a program. The good players will likely be taken by other teams and Penn State will be remembered...
  15. Do you 'tag' your signs?

usually a 2 inch removable sticker with a logo and the 1-800 number on the back if there is a back... Unless its a trade job of course. Mainly just as a reminder of where to get replacements when it wears.
  16. How to Paint a 150 ft Batman mural

big slide projector shone on the wall would do it.
  17. How to Paint a 150 ft Batman mural

That is a print head - old school
  18. What vinyl do you use in retractable banner stands?

Cat pee was the feedback from a couple of my customers. after stinking out a couple of foyers I reprinted a few of stands. Was compensated through my local supplier. Current batches are good though.
