  1. Calling all font gurus...

Can anyone identify this font? Seems familiar.
  2. What do you remember...................

I loved Stompers. My brother and I had a Stompers track that you could modify into different configurations with cul-de-sacs so that the Stompers would turn around and keep going. We played for hours with those things, swapping out tires, chassis, etc. Thanks for the memory, SlightlyChilled!
  3. Open Office Conversion?

Thank you for your replies and offers to help. Someone has graciously offered to convert the file for me. :signs101:
  4. Open Office Conversion?

I don't want to install Open Office on my machine. So, if anyone who already has said software installed would be willing convert a file for me let me know.
  5. Open Office Conversion?

I received an .odt file from a client which I believe is an Open Office doc. Can anyone convert this to a Word doc or pdf or something that I can use? I have a feeling it is going to be a low-res bitmap anyways.
  6. Things You Can't Get Anymore

We're behind the times here. We have both drive-in theatres and IBC at the grocery store in 6 pack glass bottles. I love IBC Cream Soda.
  7. tiff file

I guess that the tif is either compressed or contains an alpha layer. Flexi doesn't play well with either.
  8. cornhole boards

We use 3651 with gloss lam. Omit the lam if the client is going to clear over the whole thing.
  9. Distorting or skewing graphics

Flexi does not have bitmap transform features like Photoshop does.
  10. Is anyone using 3rd party ink for jv3

Superior quality at a lower price. We've used Triangle virtually since day one (7+ years). The wide gamut magenta is unsurpassed as is the general durability.
  11. Help! Banding..

A picture of the banding would help as well? Have you done a media compensation calibration?
  12. Any Special Plans for the 4rth?

Taking the fam to a pig roast/family reunion. Really looking forward to it.
  13. gradient ?

I wouldn't go that far. I get great, smooth results from gradients created in and printed from Flexi with no "stepping". However, the software is not without its limitations--transparent gradients being one.
  14. gradient ?

What? Why wouldn't you create the gradient in Flexi? And regarding the OP's question, a Googled jpg won't support transparency, either. You can't create or work with transparent gradients in Flexi.
  15. Removable "sticker" on banner

Are the banners also printed? In my experience, even removable-adhesive decals will leave some adhesive on banners, and anything I use to remove adhesive will also remove the solvent ink.
  16. temporary outdoor sign use lamination?

We use those same inks. They are extremely durable and shouldn't need lamination for a 1-year outdoor sign unless it is for abrasion protection.
  17. ai file

Those values would print as black on my setup. The values look like something that was mixed by the designer based on onscreen appearance or eyedropped from a bitmap. I can't imagine a Pantone or even process green would contain that much magenta.
  18. Clear Vinyl

I print on Oracal 210 and 290 lam frequently. Laminate it with itself. Without a white backer, the colors won't work on dark cars.
  19. Snack Time

When I'm at the shop, I snack on granola bars, fresh fruit and string cheese that I swipe from the kids.
  20. Static cling cutting problems

Have you calibrated your printer's media feed for the cling? Cling will feed differently than pressure sensitive film, and an uncompensated print can result in inaccurate cuts in the y axis.
