I like to run a sheet through the laminator every now and again to blow off steam and wake the shop up.

I'm not sure how to change the size of the marks. On our Mimaki plotter, you can set the size of marks to detect. Ours is set to 10mm which is the size that Flexi prints for Mimaki registration.

The only times I uses masks in vector-based apps is to either achieve the effect shown below or to make a "soft crop" of a bitmap in case I want to easily undo the "crop".

Yes, often times the multiple masks are created when Flexi parses files. On the flip side, I've also dealt with files where the designer used unnecessary masks as an alternative to proper design technique.

Why would you suggest not to use LXI? From what I understand, LXI has both bitmap auto-tracing and vector editing tools. Vectorizing a raster signature is completely possible in LXI Master Plus.
