  1. credit score

Check out Quizzle.com, you can get your annual free reports through them and sometimes free scores as well, they also have a "Quizzle" score that's very similar and a good reference to track over time. They're owned by Quicken and their game is also to sell you mortgages but the tools are...
  2. Pick the winner

    Winner: Anyone not watching
  3. Stock photos: difference between these 2 images?

That's just supposition, that filesize difference could easily just be the difference in the type of compression (or the tif may be uncompressed entirely), not a difference of color channels. It would be really, really weird for a stock photo vendor to convert color modes seeing as they'd be...
  4. Adobe CS 6 coming soon!

Not calling you out, just speaking generally with your post as an example. :peace!: America is full of convenience consumers and that doesn't stop being true in B2B.
  5. Printing JPG image problems

I don't know anything about versaworks but make sure you're matching your icc profiles, and if you can't match profiles in versaworks convert the profile before ripping in photoshop.
  6. Customer has a deposit on a logo but want's to go another route

Should be in your contract what happens when a change or stop order is placed. Typically a change or stop in the middle of a project means the deposit is yours to keep--as long as that's what your contract said. USE CONTRACTS http://vimeo.com/22053820 http://www.aiga.org/standard-agreement/
  7. hp touchpad blows away ipad

Google owns Motorola Mobility now so expect some interesting things on the touchpad front in a couple years, once they figure out the merger. Mostly purchased for the patent portfolio but I fully expect Google to use Motorola devices as the flagship "Nexus" devices after a while.
  8. Tablets. Have One? Don't? What do you do on it?

Rooted touchpad is a lot of fun, I've played with a couple. Education apps tend to be on the iOS platform though so I'll be going that route for my son, much to my dismay (I really dislike Apple). For business use a rooted Touchpad would be perfect.
  9. Real highend Business cards

Neenah Classic Crest makes up to 165lb cover stock, about as thick and quality as you can find for paper business cards. I find paper cards to be more lux than plastic, lux stuff tends to be organic materials. By the way Beast Pieces (Studio On Fire) is as cool of a place as it seems, drop by...
  10. A present to you

We use a Gerber Edge to make tiny decals for model planes of the type used by a pilot school client. They give them out for various reasons, huge hit. Really annoying to apply, glad it isn't my job.
  11. NEED another L25500. Anyone got a NEW one?

More importantly, what will you name it? Also from your twitter, looks like you don't use the take-up weight or pull down the loading dock while printing? Doesn't your material walk on the roll a ton? Or is that just for better photos.
  12. Tablets. Have One? Don't? What do you do on it?

I'll be buying one for my son in a couple months as I dig the learning software but I have limited to no personal need for one. Don't do many field presentations, big monitor on a swivel works better in the office.
  13. Adobe CS 6 coming soon!

Don't you hate that? I had a vendor ask for CS2 this year. I figure if you can't stay upgraded your company either isn't stable and viable or isn't interested in pushing the envelope, so I'm not interested in doing business with you. If you need a downsave for embroidery software or whatever as...
  14. How do you handle production of orders from start to finish?

This. Any job inquiry gets an estimate. Accepted estimates turn into work orders and completed jobs turn into invoices. All contacts are tracked in a CRM regardless if they place an order or not.
  15. What should I charge?

Flag forward dates back to the days of sailing ships. A flag on a ship under sail looks like that as the wind is behind it, pushing it forward. We modern people think of the flag as going the other way from the wind created by the vehicle pushing through the air mass instead of being pushed by...
  16. A present to you

Nice work and great idea. We once wrapped a broken power wheels for the display room. A shelf full of display wraps would be an awesome sales tool.
  17. Little League Banners with a before and after.

I agree 15 minutes would be long for us too, just asking :). A lot of times little league and such will try to cut the absolute worst bare bones cost price, glad to see you still have good margins on that type of work. Printed at 4-pass there's enough profit left there to be happy with. Good...
  18. Getting our new site ready for 2012.

A few suggestions: Change your permalink structure to /%postname%/, a lot of your pages aren't showing pretty urls. That's a problem for visitors trying to link to you and more importantly to search engines. :) Once you do resubmit your sitemap if you aren't using a plugin that auto-submits (I...

  20. Little League Banners with a before and after.

That's a lot of extra design time for a dozen banners. Big improvement, was there any profit left in it after the time spent on the front end?
