  2. New Printer

My .02 is to buy a separate printer and cutter and buy the largest printer/cutter combo as you can afford. A 54" system will be your best bet and the most cost effective because most media is sold as 30" or the most common 54". You also must have a company that stands behind what they sell, good...

  4. Can I print on this stuff?

Eco solvent ink on the 631 worked fine with our mutoh. We use the same profile as our 3651G profile you may have to tweak the profile a bit but the ink grabs the matte film just fine. We don't mask it so can't say from that end but go for it.....
  5. Printing Gradients in Flexi 10

In production manager, under the profile you're using click the advanced setting "Advanced Color Management". Make sure the gradient is set to relative colorimetric.

  7. exporting images in pixels

So in flexi or any other vector program what size would 250X250 pixles be in inches? And how do you figure that out?

OK, I have PS too. What should I do?
  9. exporting images in pixels

I have to send our web developer some images and they want the images to be, lets say 250X250 pixels. I mainly work in flexi, does anyone know or have an easy way to make sure the file is sized correct? I know in design central you can set the size to in,ft,mm,cm,m & pt but nothing for a...
  10. Need advice from one of you experts please.

Buy new, a warranty & tech support are priceless in a busy shop. Buy at least a 54" machine, 30" will not wrap vehicles and material for any printer in-between 30" and 54" is a little harder to come by. You will need a good RIP software, you can not print directly out of photoshop. Buy...

  12. Removable wall decals

To be honest we have never used the phototex but hear it's great product. When looking at the cost we went tried Oracal 3268 and the 3628 with poor results. We use Avery 2611 for 99% of the wall decals we produce. We have tried a bit of the Matack? wall noodle, depending on the paint the wall...
  13. Estimate Software LOCKED!!

With our older roland PC60 we charged .50 per sq. in. on anything that was printed. Not to mant complainers, either they want it or they don't.
  14. Plastic shopping bags?

Try uline.com I know they sell shopping bags. Not sure if they do custom printing on them though.
  15. Drive-thru speaker/headset system?

Had a customer a few years back looking a new system like you speak of. Once we started talking of the prices I was quoted, we started to look at different options and I think the company was mainstreet (I think, it's been years). Salty stuff I can not believe the cost of that stuff, even a...
  16. digital printed roller shades

We just print on digital cast vinyl and applied directly to the blind with out laminate. The customer does not roll the window up/down so I have no idea on how long it will last or if it bunches but we have done 2 and no complaints.
  17. Material roll fastenings

4075 app tape for everything but the bond paper. Easy to write on at a cost of $0, it works for us.
  18. Plotter Recommendation

Go to signwarehouse.com and get he Q series that Jim is talking about. You will not be disappointed, we have bought 3 cutters from SW, including a 54" Q series. We bought a low range lynx cutter 24" with servo motors years back. Not that it's a bad cutter but the Q series will run circles around...
  19. Creating a perimeter blur on a bitmap

Flexi 10 has it, 3 clicks in about 5 seconds and its done. And I know if you have photoshop loaded and loaded plug-ins you can do it on 7.6 and up. I did it once on a fluke in flexi, it's so much easier in Illy though.
  20. Did I Pooch This?

Under edit then down to preferences, you set up to 999 undo's. Luckily I have never used that many but always good to have to much then not enough.
