I usually do 1 of 2 things, tell the owner to get the paint buffed or tell them I will have to bluff it before I apply the graphics at a cost naturally (I have previously worked in a panel shop, so buffing paint jobs is no big deal). Chalky paint does not mean its failing at all.
I find that every brand I have tried sucks when it comes to weeding white, yet have no trouble "Hero" weeding any other colours. I had to do 2 lots of 800 60mm x 170mm white stickers for a WRX club in white and not only was the text small, there were 5 small stars as well.....what PITA, nearly...
Maybe I should have explained that I came up with the same font (Princeton and Princet) but didn't match and it didn't matter how I stretched them. Removing the inner made it "look" close but side by side they're not a match, so left it to someone else who might know what it is.
Had my GX24 for 6 years without a problem.......set them up properly from the start and they cut beautifully.
I don't use CutStudio (haven't even loaded it on the computer), I'm using Vinyl Master VMX..
With a wet install, squeegee the crap out of it to get as much liquid out as you can, give it half to an hour to dry, wet done the app tape and peel gently. Heat guns are not a good idea on shop windows, good way to break it.
All the brands I use here in Australia say to remove before or within 48hrs of install, I remove it anyway, especially if you can see the back of the sign as after a couple of years the protective film gets tattered and looks crap.
Lay the masked graphic face down and peel the backing back at 45 deg angle, (you don't peel the graphic off the backing.) If it still lifts, try squeegeeing harder when masking the graphic.
Also clean and lube the bearings in the bladeholder.
If I lived near you I'd make an offer on your old GX as I know there's nothing wrong with it, you just need to track down what you have done to change the cutting all of a sudden.
I had the same problem with my GX24 .... I use Vinyl Master Xpt that has a check box called overcut and once checked would closed that gap. On the older version of VMP I had the same problem and rang support and they ran me thru how to fix it...... Read through your cutstudio's help program and...
I'm pretty sure that home insurance doesn't cover anything to do with your home business, I would suggest you contact your insurer and ask if this is the case.
