I have used Metamark E series (Blue) paint mask and found it easy to cut, weed and apply. Last job was flames on a car, worked very well but you need to rub all the cut edges down well to stop paint bleeding under. (goes for any mask I've used)

I use VMP pro with the GX24 and even if I optimize the cuts it still cuts here and there, I think it's so that it's spreading the cutting so that the drag doesn't pull the vinyl in one direction .... sorta evens out all the cutting front / back/ both sides so that it won't pull the vinyl off...

I honestly think "what the font" is a waste of time, it has never identified a font for me yet, regardless of how clean the sample image is.

As you are not sure she has actually got another price, just ask her to bring a detailed quote so that you can check to make sure your both quoting on exactly the same thing.

I use Font Detective all the time, and the new version in the new Vinyl Master Pro/Xpt is even better. As far as I know its still only available from Future Corp as part of their sign software.

Running Vinyl Master XPT on Windows7 64bit annnnd loving it. Support is fantastic and there are video tutorials for everything you need to know. I also find it can do everything corel and illy can only its easier to use.
