  1. Roland- Yellows printing dark orange

Yep. I clean ours at least once a day (sometimes 2 or 3 times depending on the volume of printing) and a major cleaning once a week.

Sweet. I love me some free clipart.

You may need to save/export as an earlier version of Illustrator (Illustrator Legacy .eps)
  5. Ultra Profiles

Try the website for the media on which you are printing.
  6. Signmate and Windows XP

Is SignMate an Amiable product? Does it use a hardware key? Sounds like an SP2 problem. Had the same problem with Flexi after installing SP2. The solution was installing a new SP2 friendly driver for the dongle. Good luck.
  7. Flexi Dongle

Yes, yes, yes. I wouldn't dream of upgrading to 8. The only added features (that I would give a flip about) are on-screen spell check and pdf export options. Also, yes you would have to start over again with all of your profiles and/or swatches. We've had problems just going from different...
  8. production manager "setup inactive" message?

Doug, this may be a silly question, but do you have the box checked next to the plotter setup in Pro Manager? If not, this will give you the setup inactive error. Also, do you have your cut jobs in Production Manager set to delete after output? I have mine set to hold until I manually delete...
  9. PHOTOSHOP CS3 . . . Ships Today ! ! !

    Yep, really annoying.
  10. Ebay?

I wouldn't worry about using Photoshop CS2 vs CS3. I'm still using v7! It's Illustrator that I have to update all the dang time due to compatability issues.
  11. Welding text and a object

Can you post a screenshot or pic of what you are working with?
  12. ICC profiles for Flexi and Hp 3500 CP

Check with the media manufacturer/distributor. See what profiles they have for the Flexi/HP/Media combo. Also, you may consider creating your own profiles or have someone profile them for you. PrintingDigital.net is a great place for this type of info.
  13. looking for a 100$ bill

That's freakin insane!! I've never heard of those issues. Wow, I stil can't wrap my mind mind around that. Now if printers could detect piss poor layouts and direct the user to Signs 101!

    I agree!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Not sure if this a software or cutter problem

    Good posts, bob and Bobby.
  17. Print Head Cleaning Swabs

I really prefer the larger swabs. Bobby's link comes in at around 21 cents each. We get ours from Feller's at 22 cents each ($11 for a 50 pack). It's a bit more convenient for me to order from Feller's because we order other items from them and because shipping is free. Either way, this is...
  18. Not sure if this a software or cutter problem

Go to Production Manger, select your plotter, select Default Job Properties. There are boxes for each setup that if checked will override your plotter settings. I'm doing this from memory as I do not have Flexi available right now.
  19. removing binding box, HELP

You're on the right track. Use the wand in Flexi, invert selection, convert marquee to shape, place shape on top layer, select both objects, mask.
  20. How do salespeople print off flexi files?

Primo PDF rocks. Just be selective who you email them to. It's an easy way for someone to rip off your vectorized art!
