Looks like Verizon won't have the Samsung Galaxy S2 after all. Noticed the Droid Charge has an AMOLED screen though which I didn't know. AMOLED are much brighter/crisper (better outdoors).

More importantly they have widgets, better notifications, an app market that's just as vibrant and much less expensive.

You should be upgrading to CS5 for reasons other than just this one job. CS4 was a major major leap forward and CS5 built on it really nicely. Especially Illustrator, CS4+ is light years ahead of CS2.

Just because you can do work arounds to extract the image from a PDF doesn't mean that you'll end up with the best version of the image. Get the linked file from the customer. What's embedded in the PDF will have been through PDF preflighting, downsampled and likely color space converted.

I handle a few dozen like this every day. Most of those clipping paths will be pointless, kill them all and then handle the file like any other Illustrator file...
