Commenting so I get updates, this is something I've been trying to wrap my head around for a while.
I can only do 2 layers right now. If I need more layers I make tic marks so I can reload the media and pray it lines up correctly. It usually lines up within an 16th-8th of an inch.
Fails if you...
I will recommend the owner get a backup battery or just some sort of safeguard measure for this issue in the future. Unfortunately, I'm a measly employee and do not have any final say in the matter, but boss will probably agree with me here.
Thanks everyone
So, I was impatient so I went ahead and did a few things.
First I just did a nozzle check, the initial nozzle check was a disaster.
I did a manual cleaning, I dabbed some cleaning solution on the flush pad, I ran Menu>Maintenance>Head Maintenance>Automatic Head Maintenance and the second nozzle...
So we went on vacation on the 23rd and during the storm we lost power. Today I turned it on. So it was probably about 7-10 days that it was completely powered off.
Right now it's doing lots of automatic cleanings and maintenance, been about 15 minutes of cycling, and I'm hoping someone can give...
It works fine for what I'm doing except that it's blending the top color in with the white. I don't want it to be totally opaque, I'm aiming for a translucent that is not washed out when illuminated
Oh I wonder if I have it set that way. I'm using Onyx Postershop. I print on the "Clear with...
So in the picture I was trying to do a "triple layer print" with a solid block of green, then I printed the same color green on top with a white under layer. You can see that the colors are very different in luminosity. I have done this method plenty of times but it seems to work only with reds...
Are you using cmyk or pantones for your greys? I ran into the same issue with some prints when I used certain media settings, the one I remember specifically was the white/clear setting. CMYK would always show up as pinkish or greenish but pantones would come out fine.
I mean... I think I'm cleaning it correctly? Hahaha but now I'm curious. For the heads I dab the cleaning solution on until all the gunk has loosened up, then wet a new swab and clean it all off. For the caps first I go in with fine pointed tweezers and remove any debris (I actually do this on...
Thanks everyone. To answer some questions...
Its an Epson s80600 S-Series
The machine is about a year and a half old
I haven't been messing with the cables but none seem to be loose, I'll look into replacing them since that would probably cost less than a new print head.
I managed to get an...
The banding starts happening after about 2' of printing and continues to worsen the longer the print goes. I've manually cleaned, auto clean, done the feed adjustments and head adjustments both manual and auto.. I think it's something beyond my grasp and I'm wondering what the next step should...
I've never had anybody complain about the smell, I can only smell it when we are printing dark blues or black but it does not last long. It's nothing like the awful smell of a UV print, which is what I think you may be thinking of.
Yes, we produce "museum grade" prints but not for actual museums lol, but yes to hospitals, colleges, and other high esteemed institutions who want high quality products.
I usually order Giclee prints on Somerset Velvet or other nice fine art papers. I got a roll of matte white epson photo paper and it kinda sucks with the darks no matter what media setting. Just seems suboptimal. Any suggestions?
If you don't have flexi and can't be bothered to figure it out on your program of choice (like me) you can always cut away the vinyl around the registration marks or put some white translucent over it and use sharpie on top :)
The way I do this with the s80600 is by making tick marks on the the printer for registration then printing as I regularly do, waiting for it to dry, reversing it to line back up with the tick marks and printing it again with white behind the print. So it ends up being a color-white-color...
