We use white on our s80600. You can change the white output in the settings. It's true that it takes a lot to get a solid coat but you can definitely do it for professional work.
I use the existing profiles or download them from the Epson Dashboard cloud. I have looked into making my own profiles but I haven't really needed to. I think the colors come out more or less correct as long as its in CMYK/Pantone and I just have to tweak them if they are inaccurate. I'm...
Check your heat settings. I just had a print come out looking like that on our s80 and it appeared to be because of a high heat setting + using overprints
I've been curious about this too, I can't figure out a 3L option on the s80 but it's good to know that it's possible.
If the issue is the ink density then you can go in and change it. I have mine set to a 300% output if I'm printing just white. I'm not near the printer now but I'll try to type...
It looks like an issue with the knife offset. For example, I switch between two knives, one that requires a 45 degree offset (angle) and one that requires a 90 degree offset (angle) so I have to go into the cutter's settings and make that change so the machine knows how to adjust itself.
Welcome back! I just entered the sign world last year and I'm loving it. I mostly work with vinyl but the owner of the shop (also since 1973) has been teaching me hand lettering and pin striping techniques! Hopefully those skills/trades are never lost because they seem very special to old timers...
One thing with all these mass shooters is that they're all heavily involved with the online world. Lots of niche communities, like Signs 101, but for more uhhh creative and dark interests. Even though sometimes they seem political in nature that's only because *everything* is these days. At it's...
Where are you getting the PDFs from?
In our shop we have a shared server for various designers to drop files into. When I go to open them I can see the images but they will sometimes not appear on the print. This is because the image's file path is on their local server and not the shared...
There are a few options here depending on what is causing the banding.
First, I'd do a manual cleaning of the head with a swab and cleaner fluid. Look up directions on how to do this to avoid scratching/damaging the head.
If that doesn't help, you can try..

Nope, never wet for window perf. I am rarely the one applying it as I mostly do the signs and we have someone else doing mostly vehicles. All I know is that laminating window perf is apparently a no-go in this shop, but it seems like it could be a.. go? haha.
Yeah it makes sense when you say it lol. Funny cuz thats the reason we don't laminate. I wish we would because I feel irked every time I'm applying an unlaminated print.
It seems like everyone laminates their window perf, we don't because water can get caught in the holes and affect visibility. Does nobody else run into this issue? Maybe we are doing something wrong
pounce, but if it's going on glass or going to be illuminated sometimes the blue (or whatever color powder you choose) could show up. Depending on the size of the vinyl you need to weed, you can put it in the freezer for a bit and it will separate a bit making it easier to see. Or just wait a...
I have noticed that issue as well. It can be avoided by using a pantone color instead of CMYK. Others here can probably tell you how to better fix this problem (and I'll be taking that advice too lol) but this should help you out for now.
