I don't have the printer you do so I can't say for sure, but my guess is changing temps or passes isn't going to solve it, especially if the profile is just laying down too much ink. Are you using a canned profile specifically for that media? Have you experimented with other profiles to see if...

Probably just your profile. We print tons of it on our JV33 and it took some work to get it profiled correctly, ink wants to puddle on it. Once we got it dialed in it prints excellent though.

I agree, this is perfect for solvent. IJ680 with 8518 laminate will probably outlast screen printing. PM me if you want a quote, we run this material combo regularly.

Been there done that. It's a hard decision wether to take a small space to keep overhead low or rent more space than you really need so you have more expansion room. We ended up taking too small of a space when we moved to where we are 4 years ago. Back then it was sized right for the time but...

The JV33 is faster by a considerable margin. I do expect it will be replaced by an upgraded printer sooner or later, but I wouldn't lose sleep over that, there are a bazillion out there so they will be heavily supported for years. And new and fancy isn't always better, case in point my GS6000...
