  1. Simple directional sign

Thanks everyone. These are the simple fun ones that are simple to knock out. Plus they're more profitable than the dimensional stuff I normally do.
  2. Simple directional sign

Designed this simple 3'X6' digital print on polymetal. Needed a Mexican feel to it. Even got a free lunch thrown in!
  3. Landscape design

It's the owners name. Nothing to do with a fern.
  4. Landscape design

Here's a really fast interpretation of your version.
  5. Landscape design

I'd suggest that LANDSCAPE DESIGN maintain the same angle of the panel ends. Either straight, arched, or angled.
  6. The top 5 reasons NOT to start a sign shop

Inexperienced low ballers who can only sell on cheap price
  7. Vectrix Aspire Users?

We've been saving by date too so that new files are always at the top. I've been using snagit for many years to screen capture my corel designs and paste into my emails. Two seconds and it's done. Anything I can do to help me complete my work faster, is always what I'm chasing after.
  8. Issues with CET and getting a runaround -suggestions? Help?

I feel you pain. I went down that road in 2006 with my first flatbed and it was a living nightmare. Then I tried again with another flatbed and was assured I wouldn't go through the issues like my first one. WRONG, even worse nightmare. Eventually HP got us sorted out and finally had a reliable...
  9. Vectrix Aspire Users?

I guess that's one of the reasons I rarely using Aspire in my work. I can't for any reason see why the developers would not include CorelDraw support and include everything else. All design in my shop begins with Corel and then gets copy and pasted directly into ProfileLab. It eliminates...
  10. Simple easy donor recognition sign

    110 degree v bit Selling price $600
  11. Simple easy donor recognition sign

Such an easy sign to design and create. 16"h. x 28"w. Some scrap brushed aluminum polymetal. A small piece of walnut wood for the carved lettering. And 3/18" acrylic for the BB&T logo. And the aluminum stand offs. This is to recognize BB&T for a $1.4 million donation to the universities school...
  12. Is education the answer?

Another major issue that no amount of certification or training will overcome is talent. I bet 80% of the sign shops who know how to fix computers, printers, plotters, can't draw a simple stick figure. It's easy for anybody to get in this business and make perfect ugly signs with incredible ease...
  13. Can you do something? How much? How soon?

My response.... "How much do you want to spend"
  14. Sign van!

I'm lucky enough to have a thirty foot box truck sitting in the back parking lot when I need it. The rest of the time, the pickup does the trick. Nice vehicle though!
  15. Help pricing sign..

It's really not that difficult. Just come right out and say, I'll use your old stuff if you insist, but it's cheaper to start with new material. I sometimes add to clarify, the material is not the major factor in the cost of your sign, it's labor. Stripping off the old stuff cost more. Then they...
  16. Since you guys love being brutally honest!

    Null is now void!
  17. Since you guys love being brutally honest!

There is no law against using all caps with Brush Script, Old English, or El Grecko because I see it done in every city I have ever visited. A couple of years ago I made 50 banners for a reverend from Nigeria and they loved my design. I got $1200 each for these 3'X6' banners.
  18. Scissors

Amen to that Z! I Wish I had another float to build!
