  1. Printing eco solvent Wall mural in my son's bedroom. Need Advice

I think most manufacturers recommend around 28 days for total outgassing. Personally, I wouldn't put it in my children's rooms. We have done cut vinyl trees and stuff though.
  2. 5 post limit per day

Now imagine that "certain people" actually practiced what they preached and ignored threads instead of storming into every conversation they disagreed with and started insulting people for reason X, Y, or Z?
  3. New Latex Flatbed Info.

They're in the $250k range and if they live up to the hype, they'll be worth every penny.
  4. Are sign professionals just giving up?

100% Kind of what I was hinting at in my post. It's all starting to feel very Sisyphean. Especially when you lose a big project to someone undercutting everybody by 40-50% and the finished product is absolute garbage.
  5. Are sign professionals just giving up?

It's hard to stay passionate and not cave to the "let's just do it like this anyway" type of customer when you know they can take their ugly design and get it made for the half the price online. Granted, it'll be ugly, cheap, and probably need to be replaced in a few months, but a lot of...
  6. 5 post limit per day

Marlene is 100% correct. She's probably more tactful than I am, but there is no place for the "meme" post from AMS. It's hateful garbage, plain and simple. The owner of Signs101 being okay with hateful content like that being hosted on this site is going to have a more detrimental effect on...
  7. Screenprinted Pint Glasses?

Laser etched glasses look pretty nice too, but you get white instead of black. And it doesn't come off.
  8. Clients are idiots

    This triggered me.
  9. Flexi is eating my hard drive

We save everything. Everything gets backup and archived. You never know when that customer who ordered 100 banners is going to come back and want to order 100 more of the exact same thing. It's 10 years. They'll wait 10 years.
  10. Clients are idiots

My guess is it went something like this: Customer: "Make it say: blah, blah, blah, and blah." "All of that text isn't going to fit." Customer: "Make it smaller." "You're going to have different sizes in your type..." Customer: "Looks fine to me." Also, okra is spelled wrong.
  11. Just In who did this?

Common misconception, Lincoln and Gore were co-creators. Lincoln was the silent partner.
  12. wages working for a company

My wife wouldn't go for it anyway. Unless we were moving the Czech Republic, she'd be all for that.
  13. Computer to show proofs

If you're doing boat numbers or DOT numbers or anything like that, you shouldn't have to do too much proofing. "Are these the right numbers?" should suffice. You can still get something to someone quick without having them looking over your shoulder. A piece of paper works just as well and the...
  14. Some memes I created

Even the burns in Texas are bigger.
  15. wages working for a company

Dang. Where? I'm packing my bags. Haha!
  16. Computer to show proofs

Haha! I would never get rid of my second monitor (so useful), but I definitely try to limit how much of my monitors a client can see (preferably none).
  17. Need Help Can Window Perf used for for a windshield banner?

I think it depends on the state. I want to say California doesn't allow ANYTHING on the front windshield except for toll stickers and the like, but I might be wrong. There's one state that has pretty stringent rules about windshields.
  18. Need Help Can Window Perf used for for a windshield banner?

As AKwrapguy mentioned, the bigger issue might be windshield laws. In Kentucky, for instance, you can't have anything below the AS-1 line on the windshield (I think 6" might be clear of the AS-1 line on most windshields though).
  19. Computer to show proofs

Yeah, you're opening up a can of worms. I've made the mistake a couple times of letting someone look over my shoulder while I make a "quick change" and it turns into an ordeal very quickly.
  20. Employee Retention and new applicants

This is actually a pretty astute observation. I know several master tradesmen, most of whom either don't enjoy what they do anymore, or have moved on to other trades. I know a master plumber on his way to becoming a master electrician because plumbing got to be "too much like work". Haha!
