  1. Tips needed for mounting Gator to wall

Wait, just to be clear, are you just mounting a 1" thick piece of Gatorfoam to the wall or are you needing to space a 1" thick piece of Gator 1" off of the wall. If you're just mounting it and not spacing it, use 3M DualLock without spaces, if you are spacing it, use my suggestion for spacers...
  2. Tips needed for mounting Gator to wall

If you don't mind using something with adhesive, use 6 2"x2" blocks of 1" PVC attached to the wall and to the Gatorfoam with squares of 3M DualLock. You'll have to repaint the wall where the DualLock is at when it's removed, but it's an easy and STRONG solution.
  3. 3M Vikuiti film

I know, we were pretty bummed, it was a nice project. They're spending a gazillion dollars on all sorts of improvements for the building so this wouldn't have been too much for them, but the stupid city had to rain on our parade...
  4. 3M Vikuiti film

I've been looking for an excuse to use it, it's very cool. We've got an old warehouse building here in town with tons of ground level windows in renovated commercial spaces, we wanted to cover the windows in Vikuiti and project a video loop on it of busy retail and office interiors to help draw...
  5. Silverado Badges

  6. Mimaki JV33+Onyx: Printing unwanted corners

in the rip queue, double-click the file, somewhere in there you can uncheck the print crop marks option and it won't print them. I assume you're using a quickset for CutContour, if so, you can edit the quickset to not print the crop marks as well so you don't have to do it manually for every file.
  7. Big Big Order !! Need your help !! Now !

IJ180C-10 with 8518 gloss laminate. I wouldn't trust Oracal 3551 (sorry Sam), I've seen it fail on too many rivets to recommend it. PM me if you want a quote on this, we can knock this out easily for you.
  8. Cutting Table question

Thumbs down to glass over here, we tried it but then you have to be really careful about breaking it and it dulls knife blades almost instantly. We use mats, just hold them in place with banner tape, flip them over and use the other side when side 1 wears out. We are able to get two years out of...
  9. Any MMs make "across the street banners" wholesale?

We're not in Canada but we do a lot of these. If you can't find someone close to home let me know and I'll get you a price.
  10. Concrete Wall Wrap

http://www.youtube.com/watchINSIGNIA that's our youtube channel, with a whopping one video on it, but it's us installing the same column wraps I mentioned above (a previous installation, this was with 3M material).
  11. Concrete Wall Wrap

We've been using the 3M textured surface vinyl for a while now with good results. Just today, actually, though, we installed some wraps around some stucco columns using MacTac's RoughRap vinyl and it went up much better and easier than the 3M 8624 IMO. We didn't even laminate these because...
  12. Mimaki JV3 SP opinions

I agree with this. We juse sold a 2006 JV3-130SPII for $3500 with a 54" Royal sovereign laminator, and the printer was in perfect condition, so I think the price your seller is asking is high. And I also agree with artbot, for a few thousand more, seek out a good JV33, it's a much better...
  13. JV3 160 printing unwanted lines

Dirty/defective encoder strips can cause odd print anomalies. I've never seen one quite like this, but it's not impossible.
  14. JV3 160 printing unwanted lines

    +1
  15. Sweet Chrome Wrap

not gonna lie, that's a pretty sweet video as a promotional piece for a shop. Well done.
  16. What would cause this???

Nozzle deflection. What does your test pattern look like? More than likely you need to do a good custody wash (or head soak or whatever you Roland people call it). This is caused by ink spraying at an angle instead of straight down, usually just because there's some small buildup or gunk...
  17. Thought you all would enjoy this....

I bet this guy also sells marketing services to dentists.
  18. Do I really need a Technician for new Mimaki printer setup

That's actually a pretty good price for setup, especially if it includes some training. But honestly, if you know a bit about computers, it's a really easy machine to set up and geet running. I've set up 2 Mimakis, a Mutoh, and an Epson GS6000 on my own with no problems. When I set up our JV33...
  19. Help installing a new printer!

OK OK.. to the OP, can you detail your setup? What printer is it exactly? RIP? Connection? What driver version? Who did you buy from and are their techs not able to help, or did you buy this used? Specifically what problem are you having (aside from how do I set it up)? Do you have any...
