I just went to the sign company's website and pulled up the pictures of this truck. Zoom in as close as you can and look at the "T" in Coastal. You can see the square break in the pattern that looks just like the R Tape multi lens I posted. I'm 99% sure that is it.
If you can get us a better picture we may be able to find it, but right now all we can do is throw out guesses because the pattern in the vinyl is not very clear in this picture.
Can you post some pictures? Oracal black reflective reflects silver, but there are some black reflectives that reflect gold. I had some Nikkalite that reflected gold. But as far as the vinyl being brown/bronze in regular light, I'm not sure about that one.
Does anyone know of a wholesale printer who will do reflective car tags? I have 50 to do and it will not be very cost effective to use my Edge, but I will if I have to.
Are you sure its not just a digitally printed texture or fill? Its hard to tell in this picture but it may be all printed on plain or reflective vinyl. The only way to know would be to look at it in person and see if the pattern reflects light differently based on the angle you are looking at it.
I may have to try the clear enamel receptive as a laminate. The reason I haven't tried any of the normal wrap lams is because of the low 3-5 year ratings. This will be going over top of hand laid gold work that will have to hold up on fire trucks for a minimum of 10 years. I have been told it's...
That is why I have tried so hard to save this head, spending another $750 is not going to be easy. Thank you for all of the help, I wouldn't have made it this far if it wasn't for you and the others on here who took time out of their day to help me. I guess it will be a good lesson for anyone...
I recently switched most of my vinyl from Oracal to Gerber/3M. I was using Oracal 290GF to laminate everything because it is optically clear and worked well, but now that I have switched manufactures I am not sure which route to go. I ordered some of Graphic Marking Systems' SPF 2 mil 7 year...
Yes fresh ink was installed with the new heads. The lines were also flushed several times before I installed the heads. When I push the cleaning fluid through the head with a syringe I have missing nozzles, which is what lead me to believe they are clogged. I pushed fluid back and forth trough...
I figured I would post an update. I still have not heard back from CMYK parts after multiple calls and emails. I got the home position fixed, and also ordered a new print head cable for the color head from Solvent Inkjet. The cable came in, and I installed it but I was still getting the same bad...
I posted it in the thread I started in the Mutoh forum, but I'll put it here also just to see if anyone has any ideas. Just out of curiosity... if I would have goofed up and done something that "fried" the board on the print head, would it not be completely dead and not halfway printing? I only...
I pulled both heads just to check everything. As you can see in the pictures, there is no ink on the board and there was none on the ribbon cable. Everything appeared to be fine. I reinstalled both heads according to the service manual, and I still get the exact same nozzles missing in the test...
I cannot prove that I didn't mess the print head up. But I do know that I followed the instructions in the service manual exactly and read multiple other forums and blogs about how to work on this printer before I attempted anything. I have always worked on all of my things, from cars and trucks...
I have a thread in the Mutoh forum that is about the trouble I have had getting my Falcon Outdoor Jr. running. After a lot of checking and testing and help from a few nice people on that thread, I have come to the conclusion that the supposedly brand new print head I purchased is bad. After...
I purchased a printer and Onyx 7 last year as a package deal. After struggling to load Onyx they sent me a link to download 7.3, which I did and everything worked fine. I was having trouble loading a new printer today, so I decided to uninstall and start over. The program would not install from...
They are supposedly brand new, purchased from cmyk parts. I had a spare capping station so I swapped them to see if that had an effect. After the swap the print head would not dock properly, it would try to seat over the capping station and then pop back out. So I swapped the old capping station...
