  1. Wrecker service truck lettering

I appreciate all of the help with this. I like a mix of old school hand painted style and Jersey style. I can picture what I am trying to do in my head, but getting the fundamentals right and finding that perfect balance is what is the hardest for me, but you all have been very helpful with...
  2. Wrecker service truck lettering

Ok, here are two revisions: It may be hard to see but the first one has a silver drop shadow. I left the "Dial" in that one just in case that is what the customer is looking for.
  3. Wrecker service truck lettering

I am definitely a fan of the "old school" look. I normally try to replicate the hand-painted style if the customer will allow me to.
  4. Wrecker service truck lettering

I agree with all of this. The only reason I threw in the words in front of the numbers is for the "old school" look. I will do some examples without the words and a smaller area code to see how it looks.
  5. Wrecker service truck lettering

That space bothers me too! I will see what I can do with a swash or something.
  6. Wrecker service truck lettering

This design is for a heavy wrecker service. They have black trucks with orange fenders and roofs, and want the lettering to match. They basically want Harley-Davidson logo colors (black, orange, white, silver). The black logo off to the side in the picture is how the trucks have been lettered...
  7. where can I find this font..?

I have drawn several scrambles, they are not easy to do. The problem is, you can't just pull the "P" out and plug an "A" back in its place. Many of these scrambles were created by artists who did the gold leaf and striping back in the days of horse drawn steam fire engines and the early days of...
  8. where can I find this font..?

That appears to be a hand-drawn scramble. You most likely will not find any font that matches it.
  9. Falcon Jr. Magenta not printing

I have a brand new refurb kit for a Falcon I might sell if you end up needing it.
  10. Opinions on Summa DC series

I am looking into buying a Summa DC series printer. I feel like these printers may be more suited to my business than a solvent or latex machine. My business is primarily fire apparatus graphics and fire helmet shields. I currently print everything on my Gerber Edge and turn down anything I...
  11. Mutoh Falcon Outdoor JR Charlotte, NC

I have a Mutoh Falcon Outdoor JR that I am wanting to sell. I purchased it used with ink hardened in the lines and heads due to being taken out of service improperly. I have taken it apart, removed the bad heads and cleaned all the lines. I have all brand new parts to go in it including a new...
  12. Gerber Fonts

If you could do that it would be greatly appreciated! My email is sellerssignanddesign@gmail.com Jill, I have not tried contacting Gerber directly, I just searched their website. I have never recieved much help from them in the past so I was only going to try that as a last resort for this.
  13. Gerber Fonts

Does anyone have a catalog of all of the Gerber fonts? I am trying to see what fonts come with Omega and all I can find is a list, not an actual catalog that shows the fonts.
  14. Bad things always happen at the worst times

Thanks for all the great advice. It definitely makes me feel better to know that I'm not the only one who has trouble with things like this. Most of the work I do involves either the Real Gold vinyl or actual hand laid 23 kt. gold on vinyl, so it gets really costly really fast when things go...
  15. Bad things always happen at the worst times

Actually now that I think about it the piece it messed up on was an imported .eps scroll. But there were four of the same scrolls in the design, 3 cut fine and then it messed up while cutting the last one.
  16. Bad things always happen at the worst times

It was designed and cut all within Flexi 8.1 on the same computer. The outline and shadow (which cut fine) came from the same file, and I can't find anything that would lead me to believe there was an issue with the file. I'm not sure what you mean as far as looking up the gcodes, but maybe I...
  17. Bad things always happen at the worst times

Yesterday I had to cut some of the new Real Gold brand 22kt. reverse glass gold vinyl for a window job. Its really nice stuff, but its fairly pricey and I had just enough to do the job. I cut the black backup shadow and outline out of Oracal 751 with no problems. I loaded the gold up, and sent...
  18. SC-850D cutting width

No, it seems to be too smart for that. Every time I unlock and the re-lock the hold down lever it re-measures.
  19. SC-850D cutting width

I have a new to me SC-850D that I have been using for a few weeks. Everything is set up and working great except for the maximum cutting width once the machine measures whatever media is loaded. With 24" vinyl, it will only cut in a 21" area. I lose almost 3" because it will not get closer than...
  20. Clear laminate over Sign Gold/Real Gold

That does the trick! While experimenting tonight I tried poking one or two places along each letter just like you said and it worked great. I have used a bunch of Real Gold vinyl. Some of it was edge sealed with a SealIt pen, which works pretty good. But most of it was done with clear laminate...
