Epson support has been excellent to me for over a decade. Roland on the other hand... poor

I have a EGX-600 (purchased when it had just come out)... you can get away with using Roland's software. Dr Engrave, 3D Engrave, Virtual MODELA, etc... but I used Artcam instead. I'd build all my toolpaths in Artcam and save out the .rol format... which I'd load into a front end processor to run...

If you are using pigments, they should be somewhat archival. Water soluble dyes would have faded fast... but Epson Ultrachrome inks, or HP, or Canon pigments are pretty stable. There are aqueous coated vinyls but not many choices... keep in mind vinyl is NOT a long term substrate. 7-9 years...

I've found my setup to be buggy at times. I'll simply do a hard reboot on the printer (shut down) and computer. This has resolved 'broken' connections between Versaworks and the LEC. This is all assuming you haven't done any major network adjustments

My Roland dealer told me and sold me very expired inks... said it was fine But tech support has said not to do that I try not to use very expired inks.. but a few months past... no problem

Is your printer not under service? I'd think exploded view/data is only what a tech would have no? Unless like Epson printers, PDF repair guides exist on the web.

Solvent inkjet prints (and their ink) are not really designed for the fine art/photographic market. Solvent printers are signage and graphic printers. I would add, this would vary depending on the art market and region you're located in...

Look into this: pantone color cue You can use early versions too... reads the paint code swatch or logo color... shows the LAB, RGB, Pantone, etc

This is sketchy. I use those inks in the new LEC2-300 ((the even newer LEC2-330 I believe can use the Eco uv4 and Eco uv5 inks)

Not as EPS, I think PDF is what Versaworks wants.. but I was able to resolve my issue with Illustrator... I'll keep looking into whether Photoshop will be able to pull this off... but in the meantime, illustrator did.. thanks again

Is it possible to have Versaworks print a photographic image, in JUST white ink? I know I can do vector graphics and I can do solid underfills under a photo image... but.. could I print just white in on dark surface?? and have it be photographic, not just vector shapes? thanks
