Be extremely careful, that the media doesn't lift up from the sensor. (I once drove 350 miles to tell a customer to move the cutter a little farther from the wall in the back...)

FB500 is how old by now? 20 years? I was trained on the successor FB550-750 10 years ago... I would also go for aftermarket ink, if at all. There are still some machines in use in our customer base. End of service life is July 1st 2025. For the FB550-750, there has no EOSL been communicated yet.

Try the roland_SignCMYK.ICC (or RGB) profile as a simulation profile in rasterlink. The Roland Profiles are in the programdata directory, which you need to unhide to access.

Be sure, the sensor touches the vinyl. I often saw, that the sensor was off it's "hinge", (a set screw) If that happens, Opos doesn't work correctly.

The only technology to print on vinyl with less maintenance is thermal transfer like Durachrome or Gerber Edge. That comes with the price of more expensive and specialised consumables and less resolution.
