Right now Onyx doesn't support the UCJV330, next update will have drivers so I'll have to learn to use Rasterlink for a short time.
Salesman said if I was going to do anything with wet applications they recommended LUS-200 for the white, but of course the 330s are very new and they all have to...
To those that have a mimaki UCJV300. What do you use for blades? The OEM blades are pretty expensive ($130 for 3 blades). Hopefully my machine didn't get any damaged, lighting struck close as I was typing this and I got a shock through my keyboard on my laptop.
Was supposed to have my printer...
I'll have to try Inkscape for those. I know I get a an error when opening it in Ai and the text is outlined so it's hard to make text changes. Also it may do that because some of the fonts are exclusive to Canva. It's usually filled with a bunch of bounding boxes that I have to dig through to...
I think this will become more of an issue with more people using AI to generate images for print. I don't see any problem with it unless they have some kind of copyright, but highly doubtful. I've used Midjourney and Adobe Firefly for background artwork for labels I've done for my cannabis...
Sounds like a good plan to me. I'm 45 now and only have been in this for about 6 yrs now so I've got a looooong way to go before I can settle down, but I don't have a storefront. I'm in a basement with my two printers and two cutters and I love it. I think you'll be happier without the added...
I've gotten several files from Canva that a customer designed. My biggest issue is with fonts if they ask for a type change, they have to make a whole new file. Otherwise I just open SVG files and save them out as Ai files or if its a PNG that needs some resolution I pop it into Gigapixel. If...
Everything for my UCJV330 has arrived and ready to get this baby installed and making some money! I still have only seen videos from dealers or trade shows on this so far. Hoping for a smooth install this week and will report back!
Only issue I'm having is finding help to get this thing onto the...
Yeah I think websites are just more of a contact point and to showcase offerings unless you're coming up at the top of searches for printing, less likely to generate traffic naturally.
I'd say also making a google business profile may help to if people are searching for printing in your area...
I'm in the same boat and have never advertised once in 5yrs, heck I don't even have a website yet. I've been in business for 5yrs and just bought a brand new printer but I'm in need of more clients to keep things running.
I'm going to make sample packs of different types or prints that I can do...
I love my S40 It's fast and the print quality is great. Don't really have any complaints about it. I mainly do decals and stickers, but my customers are really too concerned with matching colors to anything.
That is who I probably go with since I have some experience using their software from the offset print world. (Although it has been about 8yrs since I've used one.)
I don't use Flexi, I just upgraded to Onyx 22.5 and will get the v24 update when that releases and it'll have drivers for my...
Initially I'll be using Rasterlink to learn the machine but my production work I use Onyx. (I'm getting a UCJV330 and it's not on the list of supported printers yet but I'm sure it'll be very soon, I think someone said it's being tested currently) Hopefully when the new version of Onyx drops it...
I'm still thinking about getting some kind of color management when I get my Mimaki UV printer in. I've only minimally dealt with i1 Pro but that was in a sheet-fed offset environment and that was years ago and I've forgotten all the things I had to do with profiling so I'm pretty much starting...
It's a GFP laminator he said.
Looks like when I laminate with loose sheets of vinyl and laminate on my GFP 363. Tension isn't even and something seems like it's causing the laminate to go from high tension to less and back again.
I've never had this issue when laminating from a roll to a sheet...
Wow, that's taking advantage of a customer and to talk to you that way after purchasing equipment is definitely a sign of a distributor that doesn't care about it's customers. Whenever I see ink it's always the same price across the board. Ink is usually pretty tightly controlled for pricing as...
