    Excellent!
  2. ROLAND VP-540 Will not power up

As a former US Navy electronics technician from the days of tubes, I would say this. Back in the day, when each component was an individual part, and schematics had each individual part showing, troubleshooting electronics was a matter of skill and logic in determining which component was the...
  3. Can I use Mimaki 20/20 ink in Roland sp540i

To start, the printer is not likely to recognize the chips on the cartridges. I would suggest seeing if the supplier will swap out the inks.

  6. Roland SG weird prints

If you are using TR2 inks, you can't get in Service mode, only an on-site Roland certified tech can. However, you should run the bi-directional detail alignment in the user menu. See attached...
  7. Roland SG weird prints

What do your job prints look like? Print a file that has some fine detail and, ideally, something with small text. If you see this same "double" image, you need to run the bi-directional alignment. If you can get into service mode, start there and then do the user bidirectional alignment.

  10. Service Motor Error 0080 and 0010

Reassemble the cutter head and bearing block, if you haven't already. Now, move the cutter head at slowly and listen to see if the clunk repeats itself at a regular interval every couple of inches. If so, as mentioned by cornholio, clean both belt pulley wheels, looking for something to be stuck...

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Did you remove the cutter head from the bearing block? Once I understand this statement, I can suggest something...
  12. Service Motor Error 0080 and 0010

Either the bearing block for cutter head has buildup inside or it is going bad. Try to flush out the bearing with alcohol. Take a syringe and gently squirt alcohol into either side, top and bottom, while moving the cutter head back and forth a small amount to try to remove any buildup...
  13. Service Motor Error 0080 and 0010

When you did the Initialization, did you insure the head carriage was locked in place before starting the steps? Clean the pulleys with alcohol. Also check the belt itself and make sure there is nothing stuck in the teeth anywhere. In addition, clean the guide rail with alcohol, make sure to...
  14. Got this code today

Assuming your printer is new and under warranty, the dealer needs to fix this issue. This appears to be an electronic issue revolving the print heads.
  15. Need urgent help.

    You're welcome!
  16. Need urgent help.

It's a mechanical lock. Using both hands (more movement control) push the carriage SLOWLY into the home position. You will hear two faint clicks, stop immediately, and then put your hand on the right side of the carriage and try to push it to the left. If you are successful, it will not move. It...
  17. Need urgent help.

Just lock the printhead carriage into place over the capping station. If you are having trouble locking it, as it can be tricky, just push the head carriage all the way to the right. this will raise the capping station mechanically and you should be good. A suggestion - as we don't know how long...
