  1. Help

Were they new, refurbished or used heads? That site you listed doesn't seem to work. One way to see if it is the cable is with the power turned off and unplugged, you can swap the cable going to the magenta head with the cable to the yellow head and see if that changes your results. If not, I'd...
  2. Roland truvis VG540 Media Gap alignment

Have you tried on Low head height. We can't use the high, as it doesn't print well for us, as we don't use thick enough media. You might be able to get more from the service menu, however if you have TR2 inks, you'll either need a tech with the peck tool and credentials or a "cracked" version to...
  3. Roland truvis VG540 Media Gap alignment

At least you have that going for you. I'd still make sure the heads are seated correctly, as this happened to me on my SG-300 a few years back and it turned out the tech hadn't quite seated it properly and once he realized and seated them, it looked better. Another thing is, is the head high or low?
  4. Roland truvis VG540 Media Gap alignment

Is that just a poor quality image or is the print out that blurry? Might also want to make sure the heads are seated properly.
  5. Recurrent problem with Roland VS-300, nozzles go missing when doing cleaning. Come back after head soak... HELP!

I wouldn't recommend DigiPrint, they sold us a defective head and then wouldn't do anything, this was for our VS-300i, which uses the same head I believe. Unfortunately the heads for these aren't cheap, as it's a 1 head machine. If you do want to continue with a new Roland, I'd recommend the...
  6. Recurrent problem with Roland VS-300, nozzles go missing when doing cleaning. Come back after head soak... HELP!

That is head damage, looks like there must have been a pretty decent head strike. Sorry, not sure why I didn't see that earlier. Unfortunately a new head would be needed.
  7. Recurrent problem with Roland VS-300, nozzles go missing when doing cleaning. Come back after head soak... HELP!

To be honest, replacing the dampers on that printer, as it is just the one head, is probably one of the most pain in the butt machines to do it on and if the lines aren't cleared out and drip can blow the head. You could try attaching a syringe to one of the lines after the cap top and pinch off...
  8. Sp300v Help please

You can try a pump up. Just looks like the lines are dry. Alternatively, with the machine turned off and unplugged with the head in it's station, you can attach a syringe to the line after the cap top and gently pull ink through.
  9. Recurrent problem with Roland VS-300, nozzles go missing when doing cleaning. Come back after head soak... HELP!

If they're coming back, I wouldn't say it's the print head, does sound a bit like ink starvation, could be the dampers or might be the cap top not having a good seal. When you lose the nozzles is there still ink in the lines?
  10. Need Help XR640 - Does this mean it's time to replace the print heads?

I'd start by cleaning the encoder strip first, as I don't really see any deflection in the black nozzles, maybe a test strip in service mode with the smaller detailed view may show more.
  11. Roland Verswaorks 6 work with VS-540

No, it's not compatible, too old of a model, I believe Dual is the lastest Versaworks that can run the VS-640, only the vsi models can run of VW6.
  12. Fuzzy edge on print and thin magenta boarder, head alignment?

As shown in your prints the black is out of alignment. If you can get your hands on a service manual for it, you might be able to make the changes yourself if it isn't due to dame to the head itself. Might want to take a look at the bottom of the head and see if you can see any visible damage...
  13. Thanks for having me!

    Welcome
  14. Hiring operator for more passive operations replacing owner. Need advice.

Just my 2 cents, but you probably want to hire 2 people, 1 Production Manager, that could oversee the production staff and help you with sales and then 1 production person who would run the machines and do the pre-installation portions. If your installers are able to, you could have them help...
  15. Roland SP300 - Yellow Dropping

Did you replace the cap tops? What does the nozzle test look like? Another thing to make sure of is that if there is ink getting to the damper and that you don't have an air leak.
  16. GX-24 Repairs

Okay, if you can actually see the cutter, then it shouldn't be an issue with the port on the board.
  17. GX-24 Repairs

Unfortunately with older machines, your left on your own for the most part. I don't have this cutter, so wouldn't be able to help with a walk through, sorry.
  18. GX-24 Repairs

It could be the port on the motherboard has gone in it, the one where the USB printer cord plugs in, especially if you say it's loose. Had some similar that happen to one of our SP-300V's where the port went in it. Have you tried a different USB printer cord to confirm that wasn't the issue?
  19. Need Help Roland BN-20 won't shoot ink.

I'd call your local Roland Dealer and speak to them, they usually have a tech on staff or could refer one to you.
