I though I was done buying printers for a while so that was very unexpected. One thing that stuck with me from when I was getting trained on the printer is when we were discussing how Canon can remote access the printer to diagnose problems, change settings etc and the trainer made a joke about...

i read through the entire contract and it says Canon is not responsible for any negatives due to down time ect, no mention of how fast or slow repairs should be. Gotta keep that in mind, no guaranteed uptime/response time and Canon is not responsible for anything due to the downtime

I also found a couple of used low mileage Colorado 1650 and a 1630 at a very good price, cheaper than the epson but the service contracts on the used machines would likely make it far more expensive in the long run.

I'll wait on grimco/epson to come put it together since I'm not in a rush anymore

Have Epson print you a sample of your file and have them tell you how much ink was used. Compare than to your latex.

The older rolands are faster than the new ones, there is nothing you can do to make the VG3 as fast as the Xr640

Canon will do some preventative maintenance next week too on the machine, replace pulley bearings and belts, those are getting pretty worn out.
