I've had my unit for about a year now, going 8hrs per day. Seems to be working as good as day one, the instructions say replace filter "as needed - typically yearly". The filters are about $300
I've printed on Oracal 651 with roland inks, looks great after years in TX weather. GF222 for thicker stickers, looks great after a few years. Just about any cheap vinyl will hold up for years using OEM inks. cheap briteline vinyl from grimco great too

I'm curious what signs do you see that suggest a head is going bad or needs replacement soon? Is it canon running a diagnostic on the head?
The printhead cost per sq/ft seems to be around $.03 so at 250sq ft you would've used up $8250 of printheads which goes right along with a couple heads...

I've had a customers report paint coming up stuck to repositionable wallcoverings such as photex and similar products. What seems to be common is zero VOC paint and painted in the last 4-6 weeks over old paint.
i do something similar to this, that is part of the design and not done in the rip. Make some templates in PS or AI
Panel labeling I also do in AI with templates.
I also tile in AI, makes it much easier to reprint panels when customers need a reprint
I use lots of photoshop too, 10ft x 20ft 150dpi mural open in PS eats up RAM, I'm using an M.2 SSD as a dedicated scratch disk for PS and that helps a lot when there isn't enough ram
yall need some better computers, latest illy:
AMD Ryzen 5900x
64gig ram
Building a new comp as soon as AMD Ryzen 7950x comes out at the end of the month, will also go with 128gigs ram this time, 64gig isn't enough for huge wall murals
