  1. What does this mean?

ok, I understand "rag right" now. Thanks all.
  2. What does this mean?

I'd post the non-vector pdf here but it's really a pia to do so. p.s. I've forgotten my dropbox password. Calls for Helvetica but the image to the right doesn't use helvetica. Says black but shows red. At one point it mentions 12.5" LH. Why not design the sign at full scale first then right...
  3. What does this mean?

I was given this guideline to make a new sign. Not sure if it's going to be legible enough here but... A whole lotta wrongs going on here! Anyone else see them?!
  4. What does this mean?

    rag right?
  5. Looking for a "good" X-Acto knife?

Yes we use the Gripster too. Not bad but still rolls too much for me. I suppose I could find an oblong washer to replace the hex one.
  6. Why I ask so many questions

Customer tells me they're going to send a pdf file for print. After working out the type of substrate I ask "what size would you like it to be". Customer's reply "it's already sized" hmmmm....I will ask again
  7. How to print and contour cut this logo

So some yahoo doesn't pick/peel off the outside one!
  8. Why I ask so many questions

I feel your pain. We get bad logos all the time and even after contacted the company directly they still give me bad art files. I'm talking about ones that I can't find on Brands Of The World or in a pdf somewhere. I've even had conversations with the United States Air Force Heraldry office for...
  9. How to print and contour cut this logo

We just did some "double-sided" decals for the same purpose i.e. apply to inside of glass yet visible from inside and outside. 1. Print "mirror image" to clear vinyl 2. Laminate it with a white vinyl that also has white 3. Print a separate non-mirrored one on regular white vinyl 4. Apply #3 to...
  10. Looking for advice on how to set up "tiled" print files

We make all our own tiles in corel much the same manner as described above with illustrator. Oversized and overlapping Powerclips.
  11. So how strong is this adhesive? LOL

I don't get it. What's the funny part?
  12. Looking for a "good" X-Acto knife?

Wait...Did you USED to work here? lol
  13. Looking for a "good" X-Acto knife?

Nope. That's the one I can't get the blade to tighten. Doesn't fall completely out but slips back and forth or in/out about an 1/8" or so. The blade is meant to only go one way even though it appears it could go the either way. Does have an anti roll "knub" on it though. The quest continues...
  14. Looking for a "good" X-Acto knife?

Hmm...don't know how accurate of a cut one can make but I'm willing to give it a shot. For example, cutting a circle out of magnetic material would be tough. As would intricate shapes from coroplast.
  15. Looking for a "good" X-Acto knife?

I've used many different brands of X-Acto knives over these 18+ years. Never liked any of 'em. Blade slips out no matter how tight you turn it, rubber grip fails, barrel cracks etc. What is the little slot for in these blades? Why can't they make a knife that utilizes that feature to lock it...
  16. Help me get organized!

In addition to the in-house designed workorder with "job jacket" (zip lock) We use a large 4ft x 8ft dry erase board to track production and due dates and such. It's set up like a calendar with a 2 week block. Write in the date, customer name and a brief description. Add whether promised or...
  17. Question auto wrap, door edges cut or wrap?

    Sasser CutPro
  18. Forget this place

I wouldn't be caught dead in that part of the world. Then again, maybe I would be.
  19. Stencil

We use paintmask vinyl. Since we don't have that size we'd cut it into two pieces with an overlap.
