  5. Need Help Printing Design with Many Hi-Res Photos

EPS for raster images! Are you nuts? Talk about a huge file. How about 5 times the size of a tif! p.s. with CorelDRAW there's no need for photoshop or PhotoPaint to flatten, just marquee select what you want to print then hit export. Choose your resolution, choose rgb or cmyk AND choose "export...
  6. Need Help Printing Design with Many Hi-Res Photos

You're overthinking this. 300dpi is overkill. We design large wraps at 1:1 scale all the time with various images sometimes at or even below 72dpi. On output for print we export as rgb tif (NOT JPG) at 150dpi. Same for banners or any other large format. No raw camera photo file is 300dpi to...

  8. PDF and Illustrator

Is everything vector art? If so and you're using Acrobat Pro you can save as eps. We never send proofs in vector format. The form can be vector but the actual artwork will be png.

Were fonts converted when the pdf was created? "Place" in illustrator as suggested will convert the fonts. Sometimes if you don't have the fonts it'll come in "jacked up"
  10. How Long?

The majority of our work is short runs. No electrical. Special license is required for that. Magnets, decals, coroplast, pvc, banners, polymetal, .080 & .040 alum, & foamcore. We call em "bread and butter" jobs. Vehicle/boat/trailer "wraps" take longer. As do sandblasted HDU or Redwood. 50%...
  11. How Long?

Long after? I agree that it all depends on the complexity but generally still should see some sort of rendering within 1-3 business days. And I agree that some jobs can go back and forth several times and over several months but still can be produced within 1-3 business days. Install of vehicle...

  13. RIP for AI

eps is not the "safest" format unless ALL vector AND no gradients. Otherwise PDF or tif. We have both Adobe and Corel but we don't print ai or cdr files.
  14. Corel x19 delete outside objects after powerclip

After taking another look at my macro I see that it was still in the design stage and not quite ready. I didn't have a real need for it at the time I was messing with it so it got dropped. If I could see exactly what the expected outcome needs to be perhaps I could reopen the event.
  15. Corel x19 delete outside objects after powerclip

Are you trying to create a bleed on a powerclip? I use a macro for this. Basically does what JakeC-Lytle describes above in one shot.
  16. Bunnytime

And Happy Anniversary to me better half! April fools day that is. Hmmm....was she just fooling me?
  17. FlexiSign Pro Gradients

Was the gradient made in Flexi or opened/imported from another source? As a rule of thumb, gradients are best printed as rastert. Also gradients should never be given as an eps. I'm a corel user and I get eps files all the time that when imported the gradient is made up of thousands of...
