You're overthinking this. 300dpi is overkill. We design large wraps at 1:1 scale all the time with various images sometimes at or even below 72dpi. On output for print we export as rgb tif (NOT JPG) at 150dpi. Same for banners or any other large format. No raw camera photo file is 300dpi to...

Is everything vector art? If so and you're using Acrobat Pro you can save as eps. We never send proofs in vector format. The form can be vector but the actual artwork will be png.

Were fonts converted when the pdf was created? "Place" in illustrator as suggested will convert the fonts. Sometimes if you don't have the fonts it'll come in "jacked up"

eps is not the "safest" format unless ALL vector AND no gradients. Otherwise PDF or tif. We have both Adobe and Corel but we don't print ai or cdr files.

After taking another look at my macro I see that it was still in the design stage and not quite ready. I didn't have a real need for it at the time I was messing with it so it got dropped. If I could see exactly what the expected outcome needs to be perhaps I could reopen the event.

Are you trying to create a bleed on a powerclip? I use a macro for this. Basically does what JakeC-Lytle describes above in one shot.
