You should not have refunded a dime.
Once you did that you (not the customer) accepted their was some problem.
I now realise that customers who sign of a proof never look at anything and should be made to understand once the item is signed of that is exactly what they get and any changes...
Last Friday I fitted a new New Maintenance Station but this week I have had serious problems of the machine losing random nozzles.
I had the print head replaced a couple of months ago and was told by the Tec to get a New Maintenance Station just to keep everything fresh.
Just seems weird that...
The board price is about right.
The tech fee is ridiculous unless you are in the jungle or rainforest!
Takes about 30 minutes to change the board and maybe another 30 minutes to set it up.

I realise this may be a very stupid question.
I am on with replacing my Maintenance station (complete with pump assembly) on my VJ1604.
Do I have to power the machine down and discharge as I will have to disconnect the pump motor?
Or can this be done whilst the machine is still on?
Thanks

Only last month I had the local council wanting a full scale proof of a 20' sign for planning regulations!!
It took me almost 20 minutes to convince the council official they wanted a scale drawing!!!
What a numpty!!

I wish the Mimaki JV3 I bought and had been offline for two months (so I was told) looked half as good as that!
If I was you I would get the thing printing.
I would run it on a very high quality do a test print and the start and the end and compare.
Making these machines work does them no harm...
I can get new print heads for less than that in the UK!
I just need some that have blocked nozzles to test my machine then I will buy new ones!!
Please someone must have old ones that are no longer needed!!!!

I have already done that using black vinyl and it is all OK and performed as it should.
When you perform the EPOS alignment test plot it is out of alignment by 0.5-1mm on the original print.
Is their further adjustments on EPOS alignment test plot that allows you to adjust it so both the...
We have a Mutoh SC 1400D plotter.
When contour cutting small labels you can see that it is out by 0.5-1mm on the contour cut.
In the manual you can do three tests an automatic a manual and a EPOS alignment test plot.
Now when doing the automatic and manual test everything is OK but when doing...
You have asked the million dollar question that has/has not ever been answered.
Way too many variables to answer this question.
Do you have a good test print (good place to start) if any nozzles are blocked you will never get a good print.
I run a Valuejet 1604 so can maybe help.

Surely a machine needing a printhead shouldn't be scrapped?
I would expect one of these machines to last longer than 5 years.
It probably has had light use if this is on its first head.
I now look on the print head as the tyres of the printer. And like tyres printheads wear.
But you wouldn't...
Earlier in the year our 1604 did exactly what yours has done.
I replaced the head fuse which is a mission in itself as the fuse is so small.
But on replacing it the magenta channel was flooding the print.
The big problem is and luckily not in our case is that when the head fuse goes it might...
Paper is a pain to print on a solvent printer.
I have tried a couple of different brands all with similar results as you are getting.
I would give the job to someone with a water based printer.

After disconnecting the lines on the pump on my JV3-160S I have got confused to as what lines go where! I understand one of the pumps is not used on this machine as it only has 3 heads.
Does anyone have a drawing or a schematic as to where the lines go to?
Cheers
